Pinnacle PCTV
I have a Pinnacle PCTV tuner card (yes, I know it's crap). Do I have any hope of gettig SageTV v2 working with it?
Yes I saw the Pinnacle Systems PCTV? thread but I was hoping v2 would have added support. I have to talk my wife into the concept before forking over big $ to buy a Hauppauge card. Thanks, Evan |

Sorry, Sage is HW encoder exclusive. That's one of the things that makes it great, HW encoders work so much better for PVRing there's just no comparison.
FWIW if you look around you can get a PVR250 for under $100, and if you get a bundle you can get a better deal. |

I too have a PCTV Deluxe USB device, for now anyway, the software that came with it was junk.. that's when I started looking into other software to compensate. Downloaded Trial SageTV 1.4. Before I installed it I removed all Pinnacle software from my system; including deleting every pinnacle reference in Windows Xp registry. Installed PCTV drivers from Emuzed Inc. Because they work properly, and then installed SageTV 1.4.
It has been on my system for two days now and it is excellent! I am apprehensive about installing the 2.0 ver. Now, that I have something that works. All I have to do now is figure out how to intgrate a remote control into the mix and it will be perfect ![]() hope this is helps.... |
