placeshifter on ubuntu no menus on video

I have placeshifter installed on my laptop, ubuntu 10.10 and it connects fine however when I choose live tv and video is playing I can not see the menus, they pop up for a split second and the the video is repainted on top, I cant make it fullscreen either. There are only close and minimize buttons.

Anyone know what this is all about?

if you look around, it's a known problem. i don't know of any solution nor could i find one. it sucks. i had heard that nvidia products didn't have this problem, but i've experienced it with nvidia cards too.

best bet is to learn keyboard shortcuts. i wish they would fix it, though. i also wish there was better android support.
