Everything Working-Just getting Blue Screen of Death Every So Often

I love the software. It is working perfectly with my box. My quest to build a multimedia PC is nearly over..

The only problem I am having is I am getting the blue screen of death every so often when viewing TV. This is a new problem-post Sage TV/Tuner..

Specs on my system are I5-750 3.5 GHZ..Windows 7 64 Bit..8 GB Ram..5850 Graphics card..

Any idea what could be causing it?

BSOD is typically hardware/driver related. Might want to make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your video card, network card, and audio device. Reinstalling the current driver may help as well if there are no updated drivers. Memory/CPU/Power problems can also create BSODS so if this is a new rig you may want to run memtest and/or prime95 for an extended period to make sure the memory and CPU are stable.

Sometimes the text that is given on the BSOD can point you in the right direction. If the system is rebooting before you can see what is there, disable the automatic reboot on system failure.

IT is a pain to set up, but you can download a piece of software from msft, "load the symbols from the internet" and process the reason for reboot, at least to a certain extent.

That being said, if your system was working fine for awhile, try to think of what may have changed.
I've also heard about some torrent clients causing BSODs that actually get blamed on other drivers in the minidump. No good explanation, but a friend of mine had weekly bsods that stopped when he switched torrent software. If you have several minidumps that all blame different drivers and you're using a torrent program, try a different one, or leave it off for awhile.

What's the frequency of bsods?
