Anyone contact Nextcom wireless to see if the newer HD receivers are modable by them?

I did when the receivers were first announced. They said they would need to gauge demand for the mod and be able to examine the receiver to see if it was doable (the receiver wasn't released yet when I asked).

I'm going to wait to see how the Hauppauge Colossus is before I get another R5000 mod though. Don't get me wrong, the R5000 has been great, just expensive. The Hauppauge Colossus seems like to solves most of the problems people had with the HD-PVR.

I sent them an e-mail. Will wait and see what they say. I have a DSR 630on a one year free rental and a 530 upstairs that I own.

I have been waiting for a more stable solution for a whole home product as I didn't like the HD-PVR in it's USB format. Tried it buit found it to be quite unstable. Mind you this was a while ago.

With Netflix available now and all US networks available to me OTA I may revisit this this year.
