My new secondary menu items do not have focus animation

I managed to develop a a SageTV plugin and doggedly avoid any kind of STVi development until now.

I'm both amazed by the power of studio and slightly at sea when it comes to getting what I want with it.

I added some new conditional secondary menu items to the online services menu.

I did this largely by cut and paste of the existing menu item just above mine.

The menu items appear but they do not to have to selection animation that the adjacent menu items have.

(The animation where the menu item starts with a smaller font and goes larger when it gets focus).

I've eyeballed every aspect of the widget chain and its properties and cannot see why the animation is not there.

Can anyone help please?

Michael

Maybe you could show us your code so we can eyeball it? Hard to say what you did wrong without being able to see what you did.

Probably missing the theme. that's where the FocusGained hook changes the font. Please post a screenshot of the code.

Got it.

The "ThisItem" attribute value needed to be in quotes.

Not near the code at the moment otherwise I would post.

That tells me you need to do the tutorials and also make sure you have the show errors checked in studio as that would have shown this error.

Great advice. Here is a small "gotcha" with that function. If it's enabled and the error dialog pops up, if you select "ignore errors and continue", it will ignore all future errors BUT the little checkbox enabling the feature will NOT be unchecked. You need to manually uncheck and then recheck the little box. I've been burned by that before
