Same Channel Can Only Be Tuned By One of Several Tuners

I live in a dual market. I have posted this before - some of my OTA ATSC tuners can tune Rockford, IL WREX-DT 13-1, others give an encoder error.

Same antenna splitter. Never happened with Sage 6. No channel remapping or tuner preferencing. Signal pegs the meter as I am about 20 miles from the transmitter.

Re-scanned as well.

Any thoughts?

Sorry, no specific thoughts at this time. However, I have a similiar type of issue. I have 6 HDHR tuners all recording clear QAM. One of my tuners can no longer record a specfic channel. The other tuners have no problem with this channel. I first noticed this issue shortly after I upgraded the firmware and software for the HDHRs. I do not believe you are using HDHRs so I may now consider this could be a Sage issue. My workaround was to give the problem tuner a specific lineup that ignores the channel. If this is a Sage issue I would not expect a quick fix. I have not reported it to Sage because I thought it was a SiliconDust issue. I am running the Sage beta software so that complicates the issue for me. When Sage releases a new version of the software, I intend to test the tuner again. If it starts working at that time it probably was a Sage issue. That probably would not be of much help to you if you are using the released version of Sage.

That may actually be a cabling/splitter issue. You may have a bad spot in the bandwidth of the components. Have you tried switching HDHR's or cables around and see if the bad channel stays with the cable feed or the HDHR?

No, but I doubt if it has anything to do with the cables. As I stated it occured a day or two after I upgraded the Silicondust software and firmware. I suspect it may have been something I did while remapping the channels. I think I may have still had Sage running when I was scanning for channels. I did stop Sage before updating the *.scn files. This issue is not a major concern for me at the moment. It was driving me out of my mind untill I realized it was an issue with 1 specific tuner. I would go into Sage channel setup and preview channel and it worked fine. But when I went to the guide and tried to watch the channel live it would always fail. That is when I realized it was a tuner specific issue which I did prove by going back to channel setup and test each tuner on that channel. I doubt the cables because I have a single cable that feeds my 8 way amplified splitter and I have not touched the cables in months.

Actually, that's far more helpful than you might think because now I know it is happening to other people with completely different tuners than I have ever used.

I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

From my point of view, no, since I have tried that as well. And I am using decent splitters from the my old cable company and the antenna installers - I asked them for a couple of spares. They were glad to oblige because they said they were so sick of getting service calls and finding 99-cent splitters bought from a discount store or The Shack that had no bandwidth and were junk inside. But thanks for pointing out another possible area of problems. I appreciate it.
