placeshifter not working on live tv

Just set up PS on a new laptop
I can view all recorded movies and it does not matter what the video format is.
I can not view any live TV programs either SD or HD It finds server ok. the live video is very choppy and then freezes or goes to black screen, the audio does the same.

I am using the latest version of Sage and PS. and a gigi bit router.

Server is 3 core AMD processor 4 g ram
Laptop is dual processor with 3 g ram

Help Please ED
