Digiguide, XMLTV and SageTV Adding new channels

Little bit confused folks.

I followed the suggestion to remove one of my four tuners and perform a sage channel scan, saving the FRQ and then readding it to the existing XMLTV lineup which worked perfectly.

I updated the FRQs stopped and started SageTV and all existing channels work correctly (some with better signal strength).

My issue is, I have found 5 new channels in the sage scan. But cannot get them visible in SageTV's EPG

I added the channels to Digiguide and refreshed; Digiguide now has the EPG data.

I then went to XMLTV (Stephanes importer) to edit the channel lineup to add the new channels; when I 'Load channels from FRQ' and select one of the new FRQ files, IT DOES NOT SHOW THE NEW CHANNELS AT ALL.

So SageTv does not see the new channels and XMLTV does not see them. Am I missing something obvious here?

Thanks

Strange issue , you still have the option to add them manually one at a time ?

Or maybe create a new channel line-up from scratch.

Stéphane's importer gets its list from the file produced by DG2XML. You did run that step after you added the channels, did you?

Note also that channels added to Digiguide don't get picked by DG2XML until the underlying digiguide windows process is restarted. Closing and reopening the Digiguide GUI interface isn't enough, DG2XML won't see the new channels until the digiguide.exe process which handles the XML interface is restarted.

Either find it using Task Manager and kill it, then restart the windows interface, or if you prefer just reboot and then restart Digiguide.

I have to do this often, so I know it works.

Edit: Reread your post. Not used "Load channels from frq" so perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree?

You could always manually add the rows in the importer instead of trying to read them from the FRQ file. If you match the channel calls signs with what you found in the scan then they will match in the EPG

AFAIK, loading the frq file in the importer is just a convenient way of getting the channels you're expecting to use in Sage into the importer and it may even be a one off event for the first time you create the lineup in the importer

As a test, create a new lineup in the importer and load the frq file - does it see the new channels ?

Tried the new lineup from scratch and made no difference at all.

Very Strange!

Are you saying they do not show in the list of channels , or they do not show in the right hand side ( XMLTV data drop down menu)?

If they do not show in the list of channels , can you please send us the frq file ?

If they do not show in the XMLTV data (right hand side drop down menu) , then that means they are missing from the XMLTV source file. This can happen if you did not allocate a number to the new channels within the Digiguide software.

Let us know

They are missing from the right-hand side XMLTV file.

After fiddling at the weekend I can tell you that the FRQ is fine, I can see all the channels in the guide and they tune without issue, just no EPG data at present.

Don't think I have assigned a channel number to the new channels in XMLTV yet; I have assigned a new channel number in the FRQ however.

Will have another look tonight and come back.

It is very likely then that in the Digiguide software , you did not give a channel number to the new channels , or the channel number you gave is a duplicate ( note that I am talking about the digiguide software )

Someone had a similar issue , see here

It was not the digiguide software channel configuration nor the XMLTV import process (which was mapped correctly).

I needed to remove the video sources and re-add them in Sage for the EPG to reflect the new channel additions.
