Mac Mini Client, BootCamp, Windows 7, DVD Playback Issue

Hi folks!

Both of my extenders are dead (ugh) and now that SageTV has a questionable future I've decided to repurpose my Mac Mini as a new client. It's a couple years old, dual-core, 1GB RAM...but seems to play back Bluray rips just fine.

Problem is, it won't play a DVD rip. All rips are full folder structure, nothing left out.

After fighting with it a bit, I've got Windows 7 running on it...fully patched...sound working (not sure how I'm gonna get 5.1 out of it but that's another story)...but just seem to have this one hiccup.

I've mucked with all the video settings and can't seem to get any of them to work.

Error Message:
===
There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-3,0x80070057):
There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback.
===

Which...is a very strange message to me. All DVD's and Blurays are in the same folders. Everything is where it should be. All DVDs fail, all Blurays play fine.

Thoughts?

UNC paths maybe? Are you using smm or something like that?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

It's a mapped drive, which has worked fine for years...and is working just fine for Blurays. Just the DVDs that are not working. Even MPGs in the same DVD folders are working fine.

Mapped drives should work, but I'd try it with the unc path pointing directly to the folder instead of the mapped drive letter (if that is in fact what you are doing).
