Choppy A/V with Live TV

Hello all,
I'm running into a problem with my placeshifter on my home network with Live TV (from my HDHomeRuns) and non-Recorded TV videos. My setup is:
  • 1GB wired network
  • i5-2400s with 8GB of memory using the H67 Intel HD Graphics.
  • Windows 7 Pro
  • No third party codecs installed.
  • Transcoding disabled (supposedly).
If I watch a recorded TV show, the video plays flawlessly. If I try to play LiveTV, video stutters and skips, while the audio pops and drops. If I try to watch non recorded TV videos (e.g. an MKV), it works, but it appears to be transcoded video.

If I connect my HD100 up, it plays video at a better level then my i5. If I install the SageTV client trial (oh, to have bought a license when I had a chance), live TV and recorded TV work without issue (though non-recorded TV videos don't, which I assume is a client codec issue).

If I use another XBMC to stream video over SMB or directly from the HDHomeRun, it works without a problem.

I've tried tweaking a number of settings (enabling transcoding, disabling 3d), but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ben

If you pause for a second then continue, does it play correctly? This is likely a problem with playback being too close to the recording, not giving enough time for the placeshifter server to stream it. Pausing for a second, or skipping back, will likely fix it.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The problem persists if I pause live TV, even if I pause multiple times.
