Gentlemen,

many thanks for this small piece of software. This is by far the best solution for pushing Sage records on my android device.

A small step for the universe, but a big step for me

Even though i did not use plex before, it was quite easy to understand and setup the needed infrastructure next to sage-server.

There is only one thing i am missing. Is it possible to show/import the recording date/time into Plex library? Did i miss something here, or is it not foreseen to have this implemented ?

Anyway, this is the u-turn in my android world.

best regards from germany.

Glad it is working out for you.

Recording Date and episode duration should be showing up without problem. The caveat there is that it must exist as part of the metadata in SageTV/sagex. here is a screenshot of one of my files which shows original air date, and duration. If duration isn't what you meant by "Time" then could you please explain what piece of metadata you mean by that?

thanks for feedback.

it shows duration of recordings, but the date is not shown.

what do ou mean with "must exist as part of the metadata in SageTV/sagex" ?

In SageTV the information exists. But it is not transferred to PLEX.
So, is there something i can edit in the .js files in Sagex/services -folder ?

Interesting. I'm running into a similar issue with recent recordings. I've got various re-runs and first run episodes set to record (Big Bang Theory and Oregon Field Guide).

In BMT, the metadata includes the original air date but no other date/time info other than duration. (SageTV PC client also shows the original air date).

In Plex, only the duration shows up.

This is happening on re-runs (Big Bang Theory) and first runs (Oregon Field Guide).

I'm running the very latest version of PMS 0.9.7.7.

hmm :-/

Ill have to take a look at this. I wonder if there is a difference in the way sagex is storing that metadata these days with the recent updates.

I have 2 things on my list to look st:

1) Why is documentary not being included in tv or show (i know the answer, just need to figured out the best way to implement)?
2) Whats happening to the rest of the metadata.

Ill get to these ASAP. I had a loss in the family this past week and have been dealing with that. Once things start to slow down, ill get to these.

sorry fot he delay.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. There is, of course, absolutely no rush to get to any of this. Be with family, the most important thing any of us have.

Darci -

I believe the issue here is not with the scanner, nor is it with the code per se. The issue is actually coming in when "rescanning". What I found in my controlled case is that for wahtever reason when rescanning sage imports GetMediaFileForID function in the BMTAgentTVShows is unable to leveratge the SAGEX_HOST defined in the properties file. Every single test for me reported back that SAGEX_HOST was null.

For now can you please hardcode your SAGEX_HOST into the BMTAgentTVShows init.py file at the very top? I will reach out to Brian and see if he has any idea on why the prop. file isn't being read everytime.

Also, when i stopped the sagex server and restarted it, it seems to be ignoring my hard coded settings in the bmt prop file.. also very strange.

Ill see if Brian has thoughts and keep you all posted. This may be the issue with the Documentarys that another user was having as well.

*Documentarys should be picked up without issue during the TV scanning process already. If it is a documentary/movie genre in sage, then thats possibly a different story.

Darci do you have any files in sage that are genre=documentary/movie? if so can you see if they show up in plex and if so where? sage movie import or sage tv show import?

I'll poke at this later today or tonight at the latest and report back on both (hard coding the SAGEX_HOST and if I have a documentary genre anywhere...

I've done that, and re-scanned from scratch TV recordings and still no dates.

I do have one documentary/movie and it did show up in Movies. I have other documentaries (no /movie) that show up in TV shows (e.g. Biography). I have one recording which should have been labeled by SageTV as documentary/movie and was not. Changing it BMT won't have any effect until I rescan that section (TV shows) from scratch again, right?

Also related to this, I haven't ever been able to go into a single item (via Plex's media manager, now the new web app) and fix a single SageTV item, have you?

That's right

I have not been able to modify metadata inside of plex :-/. Not sure if that's because it's using a custom agent or what...

I haven't been able to get back to this as of yet, but I have been testing a few things that seem to be working quite nicely... at least for my setup

removed the sage records directory from ple
then set it up again but this time (similiar to the way you setup sage movies section) i am only using the SageTV Scanner, and the builtin TVDB agent for metadata. things aren't 100% perfect, but they are pretty stinking close.

Yeah, not so much for me. I record a lot "one offs" (e.g. concerts, science shows, public broadcasting shows, etc) so doing this via BMT is still ideal for me

This being (mis-)identified as "Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew" is pretty damn funny though

If you feel like playing with the BMT scanner again someday, great and if not, that's fine. I can live with how it's working currently so thanks again for all your work on this

I've just started playing with your plugin and plex.. First of all THANKS! for this.
I have a problem which I explained in this post about the scan not completing...

My question for you is.. Is there a way to tell what hasn't completed the scan? I see lots of "Finished Processing xxxxx".. in the logs But I have not way to know if maybe it's stuck on something that's causing my scan to never finish.

Thanks,

Jim

Zip up your plex scanner log, and bmt agent log (if you are using the bmt agent and not the tvdb i described above, and I will take a look at them)

Yeah i was just looking at that. IT could def be the problem is for some reason sage has that show saved as a TVShow, but it fact it is a Movie. There are different metadata elements for each type, and BMTAgent doesn't handle Movies, the SageTV Movie Scanner, and standard Plex metadata agent for movies is how we handle sagetv recorded movies.

try running this and post this back for me would you please?

Hmmm, If there are 2 files, then it most likely got recorded twice by sage, or maybe you have automatic conversion set? .ts is a hdpvr file i think right?

anyways can you please go into BMT and

http:// sage server : port/bmt

and then go to browse in the search type:
MediaTitle contains 'Dr Seuss'

bring the metadata up for that element and let me know if bmt has it as a movie or a tv show. if it has it as a tv show can you please switch it to a movie, and then rescan?

Funny.. The search didn't work. I had to hunt in TV shows (all) to find it. And it is reported as a TV show. I even shortened it to "MediaTitle contains 'Seuss'"
and that brought up nothing! I did MediaTitle contains 'Bones' and it brought up all my "Bones" episodes.. strange...

I will change them to TV and report back..
Starting scan now. I've gotta run to a meeting...
