Where to find list of BellTV Channels
I'm looking for a source that will show me which channel NUMBERs are a part of a given Bell TV "theme pack".
For example I have "News and Learning1" and it shows me what channel logos are in there, but I'd like a source that would show me which channel #s are in a given theme pack... and which channels are included in the base packages, etc. I'm trying to configure my channel lineup in sagetv to ONLY show the channels that I've paid for. Since my system uses IR blasting, if I hit a channel in the guide that I don't pay for, then I'm left on screen telling me that I need to pay for it, and the only options are "channel up" or "channel down" so, basically the tuner source is hosed until I manually fix the tuner. Thanks for any help

I haven't found anything that groups them with channel numbers. I just use this list http://bellsrdu.ca/en/channel_lineup.htm to get the latest channel numbers and figure out what I subscribe to.

I think they purposely go out of their way to make it hard for people to know what channels they actually have (Although they do have an "All Subscribed" view in the Program Guide... Maybe, I'll just bite the bullet and manually write them all down )

I have written an SJQ script to determine if a file is a valid recording or if it is just a black screen (this happens if Rogers switches of my STB for some reason). Depending on what your Bell box outputs on an unsubbed channel this could be modified to loop through all channels make a short timed recording and give you a guess on whether you receive it or not. It might take a night or two to run...

Except with the Bell boxes if you land on a channel that you do not subscribe to you can only get off of it by a Channel Up or Down command, not by entering a different channel number.

Ouch! So how do you fix that currently? Do you have it set up so that you can send a ChUp or ChDown from Sage?
edit - does one press of the ChUp or Down take you to the next valid channel or can you be stuck having to push it a few hundred times if you really make a mistake?

no I have to go down to the server room and find a remote and change the channel. My channel line up has been stable for a long time and my USBUIRT never misses a channel change. I can't remember the last time I had to fix the problem, but was an issue when setting things up the first time.

This command will send the IR command ChUp to my SA3200 box via my USB-UIRT. Is there any way to add this SageAPI command (which is from one of Slugger's Groovy scripts) to a SageMenu item to keep you guys out of the dungeon?
Code:
Global.TransmitCommandUsingInfraredTuningPlugin(plugin, 0, "3200", "ChUp",2)

honestly it hasn't been an issue, happens so rarely. But would definitely like a easier solution.

The whole issue of turning channels on and off in Sage is very repetitive. It would be nice if you could just create a CSV file in Excel and use that to turn on/off channels. When I have set up a new tuning device in Sage I never know whether to start with everything enabled and then disable the few hundred channels that I get or the other way around. Either way you are pressing Enter, Down, a few hundred times, especially when going through the Ethnic channels section (assuming that you started with everything enabled).

because I only have one source for channels (ie, BellTV) I did add a simple Channel configuration panel the BMT web ui (Configuration -> Channels). I use that to turn on or off channels... but I still need to know which ones are valid or not
