Question 15 Day Trial Message

I recently moved my SageTV Server from WHS to a Windows box. At the same time, I upgraded from V7.0.23 to the latest version V7.1.9 on the Windows box.

At first I was running the new installation as a trial. When that expired, I entered my license key. For a few days, I was running SageTV on both machines until I had all of the files transferred. When I was finished, I enter the key on the WHS box to "unregister" that version.

I installed the new V7.1.9 version of placeshifter on a computer, but it keeps giving me the message that it is a 15 day trial. I have re-installed PlaceShifter and rebooted the Windows SageTV Server multiple times.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
John

I did the exact same thing and I am having the exact same issue. If I shut down my HD100 and MVP's and then restart sage and turn them back on I am ok until I do a soft powerdown of the HD100. The I get the trial message again. what gives?

You got a free license for Placeshifter with the WHS version of Sage. Not with the other versions. If you're now running it on Windows 7 you need to enter a license number for the Placeshifter. This should be from the Start menu and then under SageTV on the Sage server.

If the WHS version came with a free License, then I should be able to use my same License number for PlaceShifter. But when I tried, it said, duplicate License. Think support would supply me with a PlaceShifter License?

Thanks,
John

No. The WHS version is the only version that comes with a free Placeshifter license. It is built in and can't be entered. That license number doesn't and won't work with any other version. The theory is WHS is headless and you need Placeshifter to configure the WHS version. No such limitation exists in the other OS versions.
