hdhomerun prime as QAM tuner, only 1 tuner available

I went through hd homerun setup and was able to use/test/configure all 3 tuners.

I then checked sage directory and all 3 scn files are there.

Then started Sage and went to add new video sources and only one of the 3 tuners is there # 0.

Was able to add it and do scan and all seems fine. It's listing only the channels I told hd homerun setup to list, but can't get the other 2 tuners to show up.

Help??

Thanks

Are you using the latest production drivers? Are they in the ignore list in the sage.properties file? Why aren't you using a cablecard? My Prime with cablecard is working perfect with Comcast. I myself would never use the Prime as a QAM tuner. Other than the locals I don't get anything else over QAM with Comcast anyway. I use my HDHRs with OTA for the HD locals.

I have a quad tuner ceton with a cable card. Trying to cut down on monthly $ to cable co. Both my hd homeruns are getting cranky. Seem to have an increasing # of bad recordings coming from both the QAM and the ATSC tuners, so I had bought a prime a while ago and wasn't using it and figured I'd swap out the old hd homerun I was using for QAM for the Prime.

Don't see how they could be in the ignore list since they are brand new tuners.

thanks

It's happened before with other tuners. Doesn't matter if they are new and first time setting up. You at least need to look. I switched both my HDHRs to ATSC (QAM gets me basically nothing I want) and I added an amp to the antenna. This got rid of all of the macroblock or green blocks. Perfect recordings everytime-including an Ann Arbor station to the south of me. The antenna currently East.

Someone else was trying to use their Prime as a QAM tuner and could never get tuner 0 to work. Only 1 & 2 worked under QAM. Prior to the latest prod driver it wouldn't even produce the SageTV .scn files. It was a bug. I don't believe SiliconDust is spending much time on the Prime's QAM abilities.

Deacon, would you mind providing some explanation of what your end result is, and possibly even what TS did to help? Are you running 3 QAM tuners, without cablecard at this point?

Happy to.

My signature has the details, but yes, my prime is running without cable card because I have a Ceton quad tuner with CC. And yes, successfully getting 3 QAM tuners from my prime in Sage.

My 2 old HD homeruns both seemed to be getting flakey, getting occasional bad QAM and ATSC recordings (I had one HD so 2 tuners, dedicated to each broadcast type.)

So, dropped the 2 HD homeruns and got 2 kworld USB tuners for ATSC and getting much better signal strength then I ever had with HDHRs and rock solid recordings, and plugged in a prime that I'd ordered long ago and then finally came. QAM from the Prime looks great so far. Because of what I can get over QAM and my tuner priority order I've not had more then one QAM tuner going at a time, but all looks fine.

Silicon dust had me turn on diagnostics and do a couple of things and they were able to tell that for some reason only one of the 3 tuners was listed in the registry. They sent me a reg file and a bat file to execute and that cleared things right up. Very good TS.

Hope that helps.

Yes, thank you. I just picked up a Ceton PCIe, I may just go ahead and grab a Prime, too, just to see how things go.
