This is great news for SageTV builders. But when will SageTV work with HDTV? |

Don't bet on it being good news. My bet is that they go the Dish route with their own software in the box, and they are likely to be even more restrictive than Dish about exposing the raw digital content outside the box than Dish because of their content holdings.
At least to you can hack a directtivo and have it stream unencypted data to Xbox's and PC's. I doubt the new box will let you do that. Thanks, Mike

As long there an S/Video output there no reson why can record TV show
There never make Satellite PC PCI card that work with Dishnetwork or DirecTV you may as well forget about thing about that never going happing. |

I agree with mikesm, that this might mean they are going to incorporate their own DVR/PVR into the satellite boxes. Also, Tivo's contract with DirectTV doesn't run out until 2007, so I won't expect much to change any time soon.
