Working with XCard
I am working on configuring my new install of SageTV with PVR-250 and Sigma XCard. I was under the impression from reading other threads that you can set the XCard up as the default decoder in SageTV. When I go into Detail Setup/Video The XCard does not show up in "Video Decoder" drop down list. Did I miss something?
Should rendering filter be set to Default? |

The Xcard should show up in the list of video decoders. I had this problem too and fixed it by removing my existing Xcard media player and Xcard drivers, then loading the latest Xcard drivers, Beta 2.0 I think, and the latest media player.

Yes as sshapiro63 said you need use 1.3 or higher the new beta 2.0 are out standing make sure you unstaill the existing Xcard media player and drivers from the Add/Remove Programs and when it ask to say to the Yes to remove Drivers as well.
After that go to Device Manager remove the Xcard from hardware list and reboot. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE README.TXT MORE SO WITH INSTALLATION NOTE if your still run ver 1.1 Yes you should see in Detail Setup/Video in "Video Decoder" drop down list the "Sigma Designs MPEG-2 hardware decoder" |

sshapiro63 & SHS - Thanks for the replies.
I had installed the new 2.0 XCard software as you mentioned so I uninstalled both the app and the drivers, cleaned the registry and install directory, and re-installed. It seemd to install as expected so I then ran the XCard Filter Control app and set it to rename Quartz. It still did not show up in SageTV. OK, so XCard seems to be OK, maybe SageTV is not. I uninstalled SageTV, cleaned up, and re-installed ver 1.3.4. Still no luck. Is there any way to see what decoders Windows thinks are installed to see if it is a problem in registering it or if it is a problem in SageTV seeing it? Thanks, Matt |

The install in running on WinXP SP1 with up to date security patches.
I meant to include this is the last post. The decoder list shows "Default", "Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge" and "InterVideo Video Decoder" from a WinDVD 4 install. |

I figured it out. I un-installed WinDVD 4 as it was left over from before I got the XCard. The XCard now shows up on the decoder list in SageTV.
Thanks for the ideas. |
