What else does your SageServer do?

I'm sure many of you are doing other things with your servers besides recording TV shows, playing music, recording/watching DVDs, and displaying pictures.

What are you doing with it? What software are you using?
(IE voicemail server, file server, home automation)

I use mine for SageTV, music, DVD, family email, kids' games, FM radio, and general-use dust collection. There is probably also some other software installed that doesn't get used much, but which I keep on that system in case there are problems on my main office machine.

I sometimes use mine as an FTP server (running GuildFTPd) to share a video or two with friends, after I convert the videos to Xivd or Svcd first.

Sage!
Home network SMTP/IMAP server (from cygwin) for family email
Webserver with webmail interface (Apache/Php/squirrelmail) for external access to family email
Music playback (via MyHTPC/Winamp, not Sage -- because of VBR MP3 problem)
Pictures (via ThumbsPlus, not Sage)
Internet Radio receiver
Web Browsing on the Tv (Opera has 'zoom' and High Contrast function to get the fonts big enough to be readable)

I built my SageTV PVR Server/HTPC Client system for maximum stability, maximum uptime. Sage only. I'll highly likely keep the Server that way but may fool around with the Client for other stuff on the 55" Big Screen since screwing it up would not be a biggy. Before making any changes on it I ghost the HD to the installed 2nd backup HD.

I use my HTPC for all PVR functionality, media (TV, movie, music, picture) playing, file sharing (usually 5 p2p programs running 24/7), file server (almost 1 TB; need more), video editing, games (mostly online), mail server, and general computer tasks (when I don't boot my laptop).

I keep an instance of Ultr@VNC for remote access, JRiver Media Center as an MP3 server, both of which I can accsess from anywhere in the world using no-ip.com. I also run myHTPC on mine which acts as a MAME front end, weather, it keeps a library of my DVDs w/ synopsis and also divx reencoded movies I've recorded with Sage from channels like HBO. It downloads movie trailers for current movies online overnight along with showtimes, so I can watch the trailer to help decide what to go see. when I start to watch a movie/dvd it plays trivia slides (like the coke ones in the theatres). Burn DVDs of anything sage records.

Future plans include home automation.

I might have gone overboard, but I figured, why pay $1000+ for a tivo, make it do more than tivo can!

I do some home automation on the server with HouseBot.

I have an AccessDTV card, but I don't generally watch TV in that room and I'm in a hollow so the signal is week for dTV. Sometimes, like superbowl or something like that I'll watch HDTV.

Other than that, nothing. The client is generally just a client. Every now and then I burn DVD's as backups, but that's about it...

My sage server (2x250s and TV out to TV in the study) also serves several web sites on IIS6. This is a temporary condition until I build another machine for the web server, but I haven't had any problems with it so far (once I stopped trying to use Win2k server with multiple 250s).
