software glitch with HD PVR re-install
did a re-install - same hardware save for a new SSD drive.
copied my old install - aka drivers for Colossus and HD-PVR down to the version and date. Everything is fine save for one problem.... HD PVR seems to be running at 5 frames per second. Doesn't matter if it's an old recording from the HD PVR, a new recording or a live feed. The drive and directory where HD PVR programs were and are now stored is identical. The only software I didn't install was the Arcsoft TME software that came with the HD PVR, since Hauppauge tech support said I didn't have to. I did install the Arcsoft 'Showbiz' software from the Colossus install, which Hauppauge said would take care of everything. It can't be hardware, cause' when I swap back my old HDD boot drive, everything is peachy, as is the NEW install of the Colossus, so that rules out the new SSD as a problem. anyone else seen this with a HD PVR? Is it linked to an audio driver maybe? I'm flumuxed Note: recordings from the HD PVR drive/directory stream smooth as silk from my iPad using TiSageTV....

I made a note off all settings used in my previous install and copied them item for item. I was using the Microsoft decoder filters for MPEG2 and H.264, and defualt for VC-1
strangely - the Colossus is working brilliantly Actually, my HD200 plays back live, new and old material from the HD PVR perfectly, so I am thinking it's a native video driver problem between the Sagetv machine and the HD PVR

I believe that most just use the default windows 7 decoders like you have done so you are good there. It may be the showbiz software??? I usually just install the drivers as I have no need for the Arcsoft software.
If the old recordings are also playing slow then it isn't the drivers as they would only effect the new recordings. I have 4 HDPVR's so not sure if the Colossus would cause this. |

UPDATE: reason seems to be defective HD-PVR drivers, or in conjunction with WinTV 7 latest software.
