Getting static out of the HD300 on certain TVs

I was given 2 hd300s that when I hook them to certain tvs I get static and some I don't. I know for sure 1 of them is good because my brother uses it on his tv and it's fine. But I connect it to my tv and get static, then I hook it to another tv and it's fine.

Any thoughts on why some of them get static out the audio. I get the voices but just this popping noise too.

thanks

I'd guess a ground loop, I had that issue yesterday with some other equipment. Try plugging the HD300's into the same outlet/power strip as the TV if they're not already.

they are plunged into the same power strip as the TV.

Just seems so odd this happen with certain TV's. Also I cant believe I'm the only one seeing this issue if I have 2 that are doing it.

Thanks

HI, just thought I'd share a similar story.

I had the static audio problem with a certain TV in 1080p mode. When I switched to 1080i it went away.

With the same TV, I added a Yamaha receiver into the HDMI chain before the TV and was able to feed 1080p from the same HD300 without the static audio.

HD300's have a notoriously weak HDMI signal. Try an HDMI booster / repeater.

wow, I switched it to 1080i and it worked. This must effect some hd300's and not others. I have one that's fine and another 2 that have the issue.

Could it be a cable issue? I do use different cables, but I believe they are very good ones.

Lumagen and Anthem recommend running cables at least 6ft, because shorter cables can cause reflections that induce handshaking issues.
