Lost audio for AVI files

Hi,

Anyone have any idea why or how I lost audio playback for AVI files? They play on my server, but not on my Sage clients (2 clients). I haven't made any changes to my server for a long while and it is mostly in the headless-state.

Any ideas on how to restore?

PC clients? What are you using for audio decoder and renderer?

HD 200 extenders. They were working fine, then I was trying to watch a video and noticed that they stopped playing audio.

Ouch, sorry I do not use extenders.

Check your audio output settings (boot the extender in stand-alone mode for this). Check other files to make sure audio works. Verify the audio format on any files that don't work and post details here.

My audio setting was the first thing I checked. I even changed my settings to see if it was those settings on one system from digital to analog (with connecting the audio out), but no-joy. My streaming for Playon now also doesn't have audio.

how are you outputting the audio? Digitally via toslink or hdmi? If so make sure the extender volume out level (while in extender mode) is not off and the mute is not on. For stereo audio the volume output levels of the extender come into play. One would think that since you are outputting via toslink or hdmi it wouldn't... but it does. Took me forever the first time i discovered it (no audio output on avi or mp3 files).
