WTB: wireless USB adapter for HD200

If anybody has one they are not using, I'm interested in purchasing. We had a lightning strike that fried the network port on a HD200, along with a bunch of other equipment.

Thanks,
John

Ouch. There is another thread on this site that details the chipset in the wireless radio. You might be able to find generic version of the adapter on eBay.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip - I think I remember some discussion of a Ralink chipset a couple of years back.

According to this post it uses the Ralink 2870 chipset.

Also one of these on sale on ebay that this post says works with HD200.

Thanks, that was the thread I was thinking of. I purchased the Belkin F5D8051 referenced in your link, and also a couple of generic adapters w/Ralink 2870 chipset. Will advise as to results.

Thanks Dave,
I agree that ethernet>WAP is preferrable to USB>wireless, but the HD200 I'm trying to salvage does not have a working network interface. I also saw an interesting thread on ethernet>USB adapters, but the discussion ended without success.

One bright spot in the whole mess was that my lone HD300 survived intact. Pretty much every switch in the house, nics, WII, AVR, router - all cooked. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I cheered when the HD300 booted successfully!

Thanks, Poto. Sorry, I read your initial post to quickly and missed the part about the blown ethernet port.

I think I would have cheered when that HD300 booted too!

Good luck with your setup.
