Anysee E7 PS2 capture source not found

Hi,

Last week I decided to purchase an Anysee E7 PS2 card in order to add some channels to my Sage setup (Win XP 32 bit)

I plugged the card in my PC ( using onboard USB ) , but SageTV does not see it when I go to "Setup" / "Setup Video Sources" / "Add New Source".

The tuner shows in Device manager under "anysee BDA Capture Device(2012.04.16,AD01070035)"

Can someone please guide me on what I am doing wrong ?

Thank you

Native tuner compatibility is a bit like hit and miss. After the google acquisition it became more and more difficult to find, in particular new tuners, that works out of the box with SageTV. You probably have better luck with tuners that came out around 2009-2010 for better support.

Saying that, SageTV 7 engineers (Qian in particular) spent a lot of time to reduce this issues and if you have a real fully compliant BDA tuner, SageTV should be able to pick it up.

Other Anysee tuners are known to work with SageTV natively pretty well, even the CI support is known to work out of the box, however yours is USB and therefore I suspect the problem is within the interface being used. Have you checked whether the internal USB connector is a 2.0 High Speed and not a 1.1 standard speed?

Thank you for your reply. The USB port being used is a 2.0 High Speed , and the provided software (Anysee Satellite Viewer) manages to show programs, even the ones encrypted.

So although it is a BDA tuner, it looks like SageTV cannot see that card natively as it is using USB , bad luck

Well, is not 100% a USB issue, I know of users having USB DVB-T tuners working just fine, is just more a BDA driver compatibility issue. It might be possible that you need to add some settings for your tuner here:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\AdditionalCaptureSetups]

I think the best approach is to ask Qian, he's very knowledgeable and helpful...

Good Luck
