DigiGuide DVB-S Auto Config (DDAC) Beta Relese
Introduction
DigiGuide DVB-S Auto Config (DDAC) is a utility that will automatically create DVB-S frequency files from your configured channel line-up in DigiGuide. From your channel line-up the following will be automatically configured.
DigiGuide is now the only place you need to edit channel information. DDAC will automatically pick up if a channel has been added, removed, renamed, or number changed in your channel line-up and will automatically update the necessary files**. There is now no need to edit XMLTV as it will be updated automatically. DDAC will save many hours of frustration trying to keep up with changes to Satellite frequency changes. No more will you have to:-
*Still in alpha stage as it currently uses the Logos from DigiGuide. **Please note the changes will not appear in the SageTV EPG until XMLTV Importer has been run. Requirements I tried to keep DDAC as simple to use as possible but there are a few requirements that are needed before DDAC will function. EPG Collector being the main requirement. All the other software you should already have configured. DigiGuide v8.5 XMLTV EPG Collector V4.x Access to KingOfSat Website Optional DVBLogic V3.x As DDAC is a utility and not a plugin you will have to manualy download and install. Please read the install guide as this explains everything you need. This is still in beta so please report bug/problems here. I must add that this plugin is for the UK only. It might work for ROI but I never tested it. Oh and must also add that this will not work with Freesat. Please read install guide. I also must add that you will need to disable Eddy’s DVB-S Importer as this will cause a conflict. ***KNOW ISSUES*** As DDAC automatically configures XMLTV you may end up with instances of having two channels appear in SageTV EPG with the same channel name and number. This is down to DDAC using the DigiGuide Channel Ref number as the EPGID. If you use a Freeview Lineup for example with the same channel number the EPGID needs to match. The only way to fix this is to manually edit the Freeview EPGID in XMLTV. (I do have a fix) Enjoy Dean https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1cajuqfzd....2.1b.beta.zip

Not sure if anyone is using this Utility yet. But from the logs this morning I have noticed an issue with Channel 4 HD and 4Seven
2013-11-08 07:11:26 The following channel has been removed - Channel 4 HD 2013-11-08 07:11:26 Deleted Logo Channel 4 HD And 2013-11-08 07:11:26 The following channel has been removed - 4Seven 2013-11-08 07:11:26 Deleted Logo 4Seven This is down to an error on the King Of Sat website. (This is odd as they are very good with updates) The frequency they are on (11127000) is showing as empty. When you do a search for 4Seven it is shown as being in The Channel Cemetery. I will see if this is updated later today. On a plus note. I noticed this in the Logs from yesterday. I see that someone was having a problem True Movies 1 2013-11-07 07:11:19 ------------Channel data has changed for ref (50446)True Movies 1------------ 2013-11-07 07:11:19 Channel Name has changed from True Movies 1 to True Christmas 2013-11-07 07:11:19 Sage Display Name has changed from True Movies 1 to True Christmas 2013-11-07 07:11:19 Replacing Logo for True Movies 1 to True Christmas (This is down to DigiGuide not updating the change) And like Eddy said I think it’s too early for Christmas Dean

Hi,
I'm building up a test system to see if I can get Routerunners DVB Decrypter running with Card Sharing using your plugin to create the frq files. As i live in the ROI I had to modify the EPG Center settings slightly to get it to work: The Satellite Frequency would only work at 10714000 - H The country setting were United Kingdom, Area - Other, Region - Irish Republic! Obviously geography is not a strong subject with the developers. Anyway, it runs fine and collects EPG data, but when I run your utility it starts EPG collector and then after a few minutes the window disappears and the log file is empty. If I open Task Manager, your app is still running in the background. Any ideas? Pat

Pat,
Can you try a few things for me. Rename your Config.txt file to see if you get a entry in the logs. You should see a line "Error - Unable to find Config.txt file" If you do change your Config.txt back, then un-hash the Debug=1 in the Config.txt file. Also try Running as Administrator. You may also want to change the SID file path location. (You will need to change the file path in EPG Collector ini file and make sure you copy over your .ini file) . As for EPG Collector I tired setting the Region to ROI a few weeks ago and had no problems. This was using 11778000 - V Let me know how you get on. Dean

Also forgot to add.
If you have an AreaRegionChannelInfo.xml that is produced by EPG Collector and is in the SID file path you can un-hash EPG=off in the Config.txt. This stops EPG Collector from running and will speed up testing

Dean,
Thanks for that, but no joy I'm afraid. Renaming the config.txt created an error in the log OK, so I followed all your suggestion including moving the SID location to C:\DDAC\ but the result is just the same - it stays running in the background but seems to be doing something as the CPU utilisation keeps spiking until I kill the process. I'm running this on a Windows 7 x86 PC with one Hauppauge Nova S+ card installed, in case that's of any relevance. Pat

Did you also enable Debug=1 and set EPG=off?
If so send me your log file so I can trace the fault. Don't think it's Win7 x86 issue thou I think everyone tested is on x64. Can you also open and close DigiGuide

Yes I did but it never makes any entries in the log. Interestingly, when I went to close DigiGuide I got an error message - see the attached image. I appeared a minute or so after running your program.
I'll try reinstalling DigiGuide and see what happens. Pat

That's a bug in my code.
DDAC has locked DigiGuide Settings.dat file. Log off windows then log back in. This happens when DigiGuide is open and you run DDAC Need to change the way DDAC accesses the settings.dat

No, reinstalling DigiGuide didn't sort it. I've rebooted and I'm still getting the same error message - failed to save user settings because the file is in use by another process. I have UAC turned of as well.
Frustrating, but unless you have any more ideas I will try installing Windows 7 x64 and see if that sorts it. Pat

Ok, I took DigiGuide out of the startup folder and rebooted, but still no joy. Your app window never opens and nothing is written to the logs. I have SageTV running as a service, but other than that, it's a clean install of Windows.

PAT,
I have send you a PM. This looks like a DigiGuide settings.dat file error or should I say more to do with how DDAC reads data from the file. DDAC is opening the Settings file and not seeing the data in the location is expects because of this DDAC is stuck in a loop. Dean

Has a resolution to this been found as I am finding the exact same thing. The Digiguide DVB-S Auto Config Beta v0.2.1b.exe process runs in the background (using 100% of one core and 39916k of memory), but never terminiates and doesn't write anything to the logs. Thanks Eric |

@deanm
Thank you The box was built specifically for sageTV around six months ago. The digiguide install and subscription dates from around the same time. Both sage and digiguide were clean installs onto a newly installed win7 (32 bit) system. I just had to restore sageTV from a backup due to problems that resulted from some power outages. I chose an image from October to restore the entire sageTV directory. The digiguide install was unaffected. Thanks Eric |

My reason for asking if your install is new is down to how DigiGuide stores data in the settings.dat file. On mine and others that have used DigiGuide for a long time seem to have some legacy data left over. When I reinstall DigiGuide this date seems to be download again and stored in the settings file. But I have noticed on newish installs this data is missing. In the next release this will be addressed. But need to make sure my theory is correct. Dean

@deanm
First sorry for the long delays between my responses. Yes the fix worked, though it only seems consistent with a single group of channels (called My Collection) in digiguide. However I cannot get this to run from the win7 task scheduler. I get a file DigiGuide DVB-S Auto Config Beta v0.2.1d Beta.exe.log created with the following contents: Code:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "DigiGuide DVB-S Auto Config Beta v0.2.1d.py", line 1755, in <module> File "DigiGuide DVB-S Auto Config Beta v0.2.1d.py", line 1622, in Open_Log_File IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'log.txt' |
