So total strangers could use your bandwidth from the street in front of your house?

As long as they are XFINITY Subscribers.

Will my Internet slow down when someone connects to my XFINITY WiFi network?

The broadband connection to your home will be unaffected by the XFINITY WiFi feature. Your in-home WiFi network, as well as XFINITY WiFi, use shared spectrum, and as with any shared medium there can be some impact as more devices share WiFi. We have provisioned the XFINITY WiFi feature to support robust usage, and therefore, we anticipate minimal impact to the in-home WiFi network.

I am an XFINITY customer, do I get free access?

XFINITY WiFi is available for no additional charge to XFINITY Internet and Comcast Business Internet customers who subscribe to one of the following:
•Performance tier and above
•Business Starter tier and above

If you are a new subscriber, you can begin using XFINITY WiFi right away, even before your XFINITY Internet service has been installed at home.
