unable to install USB-UIRT WIN 7 driver
HI,
I have been using a USB-URIT for several years and have just migrated from an XP machine to a Windows 7 machine. I downloaded the Win 7 driver from the UIRT manufacturer's website, and, via the UPDATE DRIVER option within device manager, navigate to the folder containing the unzipped driver download. The device manager, however, is unable to find a driver to use for update. What am I doing wrong? It seems like it should be a pretty simple procedure, but it's not working. When comparing the XP driver to the Win 7 driver, I notice there is no "application" file in the Win 7 driver folder whereas there WAS in the XP driver folder (there are several "application extension" files in the Win 7 driver folder, but no just plain "application" file. I don't know much about computers and this probably has nothing to do with the issue, but who knows. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, Lee |

You said you're not that good with computers, so I'll go over some basic things I'd normally assume for more experienced users.
Where did you get the drivers from? If you didn't get any or if you didn't get them from the developer's site, get version 2.06.01 from here: http://www.usbuirt.com/support.htm (gray box on the right) After downloading, extract all the files to a folder on your desktop. When you go to update the drivers again, make sure you choose the option to choose your own driver location. Then, point it to the folder you created on your desktop. Let me know how this goes. If you get stuck along the way, please either take a screenshot and post it here (if you're able) or describe exactly what prompt/message/error you're getting.
