Update to Plex on the XBOX One:

I finally got around to adding the Plex Scanner and BMTAgent for SageTV this week. The Plugin works well and I can play any of my recorded TV via the Xbox Plex app without any issues. The is not 30sec skip or Add skip support so you have to Fast Forward thru the adds but the playback is flawless.

Of course with the HTPC and HDMI pass-thru working so well I kinda doubt I will actually use it but for those of you with a need it seems to work great.

Microsoft added the DNLA player support as well so you can now play back a ton of files with the XBox One now even without Plex. But Plex add a very nice interface.

XBOX as HD-300 replacement

Both my SAGE units died, so I got two XBOX 360s and set up WMC. A royal bitch to get the boxes to connect to the server (WIN7-64 via ethernet). Once I did, they won't go more than a day without disconnecting and refusing to reconnect. Latest experiment indicates that just restarting the server fixes it, but every stinking day? So looked at Tablo; looks great on paper, but the reviews in Amazon and comments at their user site indicate a bad experience. So I'm trying to find some HD-300s; nobody but nobody offers (offered....) a system as reliable and easy to use as the SAGE system. Shame on Google.

FYI - in case no one has noticed Plex for the Xbox 360 is now out.

I am increasingly feeling that Plex may be a very good option for a front end but there is still no better recording engine than Sage. Plex also isn't as good when you want to quickly skip through shows.
