Directv Genie and Genie mini compatibility with sage system.

Due my Directv HR24-100 overheating from time to time I have to replace it. My current Directv system is the whole home system with one HR24-100 (the one that needs to be replaced) and two H24-100s. I have had directv since 1996 and this current system since 2010. According the Direct I upgrade there is no going back to the old system.

To interface with sage I use:

HR24-100 to one Hauppauge Colossus connected by component video with SPDIF with http tuning.

Each H20-100s have there own Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR also connected by component video with SPDIF with http tuning.

Directv want me to upgrade to genie and genie mini system.

My concern is sage system compatibility with the genie system since there are no current sage updates.

The proposed system would replace the hr24-100 with a new genie box and each h20-100s with a genie mini box.

So my compatibility questions are:

Is the directv genie box compatible with http tuning?

Does anyone know if the genie box will output to hdmi and component at the same time like the hr20-100 does?

This there any way possible to connect the genie mini’s to the 1212 HD-PVRs since the genie mini’s only have HDMI output? I think this change would make my 1212 HD-PVRs useless.

Yes - Works normally from the Genie itself - See this thread for a discussion about how to make it work from a mini:

Unless something has changed, the Genie minis do respond to IP tuning. See the link below.

Because of directv pricing, however, two H24s are a better way to go.
