WMC Changing guide providers.

WMC is going to use the guide data from ROVI the same guide provider used in the XBOX one. I had to make these changes in the hosts file for now until it is all converted.

Well, on the bright side, WMC owners probably can count on that being a reliable EPG data source for a while.

Now would be a good time for Sage to come to the rescue (release OS version) because of all the problems this is introducing. Mine hasn't switched over yet and I only have data until the 21st.

Microsoft has been addressing this problem with the guide data evidently microsoft is not done with WMC.

BTW My Installation of WMC in windows 8.1 is working just fine with new ROVI guide data.

Too little too late for me. Why couldn't they work out the problems before the old guide data ran out and everyone was forced to switch? I was able to manually switch over to Rovi but a bunch of my OTA stations were missing and some recordings were going to be missed. I ended up subscribing to Schedules Direct and I'm using it with NextPVR. So I hopefully should be set whenever Sage OS is released if I decide to switch.

It is not too late for Cable Card users it is still the only DVR software that handles DRM. It has at least given a new life to WMC at least guide data will be availible.

You know what is funny I just left nextpvr and came back to WMC because of the new guide data.
