I'me using a HVR-2250 to grab clear QAM channels from my cable provider (Optimum here in Orange County NY). Last week I lost a few channels and I suspect that they were reassigned to a different frequency.
Silicon Dust used to have listing but the link I have no longer works... http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun...lineup_9646299 Does anyone know where I can get clear QAM listings for my area? Thanks

How do you get zap2it to tell you what's available in clearQAM?
I don't think there's a good way to tell anymore, now that SD decided to take down their database. |

[I work for Schedules Direct]
Zap2It / Gracenote is our upstream provider. They don't have QAM lineups because providers won't share their QAM mappings for whatever reason. And most providers are getting rid of ClearQAM, so Gracenote isn't going to develop any resources to add functionality that's going away. The Schedules Direct JSON service has support for QAM as a lineup, but it depends on users performing a scan which they then send us. We use that "raw" scan to create a lineup so that the frequency / SID / NID / TID information is correlated to a stationID. |

Thanks, rkulagow. I didn't know know Schedules Direct has support for QAM lineups.

In my area, the local cable company also has "cable" and "digital" lineups. As far as I can tell, "cable" appears to just be the analog channels. Any digital channel, including those available in clearQAM, show up in the "digital" lineup. |

If you look at the Zap2It listings, they don't have the "dot" channels there for ClearQAM. Or, more typically, they may have 6 or 7 channel "72" because they don't have 72.1, 72.2, etc.

I think the solution may be to just rescan my tuner for channels. Hopefully that will find all the clear QAM stations.

That's really what you've got to do, rescan and then remap them. I'm somewhat lucky in that my provider lists clear QAM channels, which aids the remapping process, but even that's not always 100% correct.

Update:
I've completely rescanned and was not able to find the missing channel (WABC NY). My cable provider is Optimum in Orange County NY. How does Sage know what to scan for? Does it scan the entire spectrum for signals or is there a list of frequencies? If so, can it be edited in some way? I can't believe that a major channel like ABC would no longer be broadcast in QAM. Is there another tuner package that I can use to scan channels, at least to determine if it's Sage, the HVR-2250, or the cable company. I think WinTV would work but I don't have the original so I would have to pay for it.

WinTV would be my first choice for verifying a channel-scan using your HVR2250 tuner.
Your sig indicates that you also have a SA4250HD cable box. You might be able to go to the Diagnostic screen and see the state of the CCI (copy-protection) flag for that channel. It might also report the physical & logical channel info; if so, you might be able to add it via the Sage GUI by simply remapping some other (currently unused) program from your lineup. Awhile ago, I fixed a bug that caused Sage 7's channel scan to sometimes skip some clear QAM channels on certain cable systems. WinTv's scan was always able to find the program. The fix is included in Sage 9.
