Some Win7 to linux migration questions

First, when I do a dpkg upgrade over top of the current version, it seems to roll right into running sagetv in the console session. I can crash out of it, but then it kills sagetv. Same thing happens on apt-get upgrade. 2 reboots later and it seems to be ok. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong there.

Second, is it possible to copy the Win7 wiz.bin on top of the linux one and expect it to work? Will I need to do cleanup after that? Or is it just better to start fresh?

I'm sure I'll have more questions to add to this later.

Thanks!

I can't answer the wiz.bin question, but what does it hurt to try

As for the isntall/update of the server, it will start the server during the install process, but that server is running in the background, and not in the console... ie, closing the console does not kill the server.

You can use your Wiz.bin from Win7. Make sure you shutdown SageTV service on windows before copying it to the Linux server or it will just be renamed to Wiz.corrupted by SageTV Linux.

Also make sure to shutdown SageTV Linux before replacing it's Wiz.bin with the one from Windows.

You can start the SageTV server by typing:
/etc/init.d/sagetv start

You can stop the SageTV server by typing:
/etc/init.d/sagetv stop

You can check to see if it's running by typing:
ps -ef | grep sage

You should see something like this if the server is running:

sagetv 10596 10594 23 Nov10 ? 1-09:33:03 java -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx2048m -XX:+UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=25 -XX:GCTimeRatio=24 -XX:ThreadPriorityPolicy=1 -cp Sage.jar:.:/:JARs/api-common-1.0.jar:JARs/cling-core-2.0.jar:JARs/cling-support-2.0.jar:JARs/commons-codec-1.3.jar:JARs/commons-dbutils-1.3.jar:JARs/commons-io-2.4.jar:JARs/commons-jxpath-1.1.jar:JARs/commons-lang-2.4.jar:JARs/commons-lang3-3.0.jar:JARs/commons-net-1.4.1.jar:JARs/df_sageutils.jar:JARs/dom4j-1.6.1.jar:JARs/Gemstone.jar:JARs/GoogleWeather.jar:JARs/gson-1.7.1.jar:JARs/htmlparser-1.6.jar:JARs/jackson-annotations-2.5.1.jar:JARs/jackson-core-2.5.1.jar:JARs/jackson-databind-2.5.1.jar:JARs/jcifs-1.1.6.jar:JARs/jsoup.jar:JARs/log4j-1.2.15.jar:JARs/lucene-core-3.6.0.jar:JARs/nielm_sageimdb.jar:JARs/nielm_sageutls.jar:JARs/phoenix.jar:JARs/sagex-api.jar:JARs/sbbi-upnplib-1.0.3.jar:JARs/seamless-http-1.0.jar:JARs/seamless-util-1.0.jar:JARs/seamless-xml-1.0.jar:JARs/slf4j-api-1.6.0.jar:JARs/themoviedb-3.0.1.jar:JARs/vecmath.jar sage.Sage 0 0 x sagetv Sage.properties
