Does Windows Installer work on WHS
Finally took the plunge after a gemstone issue on my rock stable 7.1.9 environment.
I have tried installed v9 with and without 7.1.9 in place and keep getting a DLL registration issue late in the install The service runs and I can connect through the windows client but my HD300s do not see the server at all. Logs to follow but wanted to see if anybody has this installed and running on Windows Home Server. Simon

Windows Install Issue - Windows Home Server Only
Guys,
I have tried 3-4 times to upgrade my core 7.1.9 SageTV systems which has been rock solid. I have decided to upgrade as Gemstone will no longer install on my 7.1.9 software on this machine (fails on stuckless dependencies for some reason). It fails 75% through the install on registering STVEVRPrstr.dll Screenshot enclosed. IT DOES NOT DO THIS ON Windows 7/10. I have tried this with a clean install and a repaired install without success. Any help is much appreciated! EmotionNotion

I think there was a special installer for WHS for previous versions, that likely skipped that dll. That's for EVR client playback, so it is probably missing dependencies on WHS. If you want, you can still 'upgrade' to v9 by installing v7.1.9, and then replacing some files (description of how to do this is over here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...056#post578056 )

There is an issue with the VS2015 missing dependencies on some systems mentioned in the installer post. Its a missing KB. It may work...report back if you try it.

Fuzzy, Jusjoken,
I managed to get the WHS instance working with the original file copy method. I messed things up by then running the V9 Installer which was NOT necessary. All working but hope at some point the installer with work around the VC2015 dependencies....well before I defect to Linux anyhow Thanks for you help. I 'nearly' left SageTV a few weeks ago but this has kept my faith strong in V9 and beyond. It still is the ONLY media centre that plays everything and records anything after all.....

May have spoken a little too soon.
Have Flows and caching views (Null Errors) showing on Gemstone in the system errors menu. System is working by flows are empty. Must be a Gemstone UI conflict of some kind.
