Thank you for the link. The video is all fixed now.
Question, what are your power settings like with the linksys and how do you make it so that it connects automatically to the media center and is ready for tuning? I find that each time I reboot the pc I have to use the remote to reconnect the extender Also, I notice the pc doesnt go to sleep anymore and I figure it is because of the extender. |

That's correct, if you reboot the PC, you either need to reconnect the extenders using their remote, or I just pull the power on the Linksys units at the same time I reboot the computer and plug them back in when the computer comes back up (they do automatically reconnect after a power cycle as long as the WMC machine is available).
The SageTV server not sleeping is a combination of things - namely that the DMA2100 units stay tuned to a channel until told to switch to another channel (discussed previously in this thread) and nothing issues a stop command to them. Additionally, if we did issue a stop command and allowed the entire system to go to sleep, I'm not sure we'd get an extender reconnect. ENE mentioned earlier in the thread that a plugin could be created to issue some commands to these extenders, which is probably the most efficient option. The plugin could accurately read SageTV tuner status, and issue some pre-defined commands, to stop the extender when nothing is recording, and to wake it up when the PC also wakes. I haven't checked power usage on the DMA units yet, but reading some other forums indicates the DMA2100's are at about 9 watts, and the 2200's are at 12 watts. This translates to about 20 bucks a year to run one DMA2200 constantly. The challenge for me is having to leave the SageTV server up 24/7, at 100 watts that's about $100/year. The system does work, but it's not without manual intervention at this point. |

I posted the link to 5.0 in the first post in case someone else finds themselves in your situation.

It seems the HP MediaSmart Connect x280n has a different stand by mode that gets by having to interact with it.
http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/...php?f=8&t=4688 Anyway If I have to keep media center running it might be best to have the 2200 work with my nuc. |

Quick question gentlemen. I have been experimenting with two extenders and enjoying it mostly. It is after all providing me an alternative to paying $10 per receiver from Cox.
I notice that each time I have to reconfigure the extenders to windows media center for any reason the port number for each extender goes up by one and I have to make the necessary adjustments in my properties file and such. Is there a way around this? |

When you say you "have to reconfigure," what exactly does that entail and why are you doing it?
|

|

I mean that when I reboot the pc that is running media center and serving the extenders I have to go through the process of configuring the extenders for that particular pc.
Each time I do that the port number of each extender goes up by an increment of one. So an extender might move from being located at http://192.168.0.30:4011 to being located at 192.168.0.30:40512. This means I have to then go into my sagetv properties file and to the EXEMultiTunerPlugin folder to make the necessary adjustments . |

You should be able to reboot the computer running WMC, then either the extender will automatically reconnect (this only happens on some extenders), you may need to tell it to reconnect or you can likely just power it off, then back on and it will reconnect.

I also found that if I went into the settings on the WMC server PC, for the extenders, that I could delete any extender and re-add it. I also noticed that with all extenders deleted that when adding new extenders, it would start enumeration once again at 40511. On a sidenote, I actually have all the DMA's disconnected for now, and I put an Xbox360 slim back in place. The unit operates much faster and more fluid, even with channel changes, and it can recover itself from a PC/WMC reboot without user intervention. There is also a strange issue with the DMA units where they lockup, which required some home network reconfiguration to avoid the lockups that I just wasn't prepared to do, explained here; http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/...php?f=8&t=6973 The Xbox360 slims run around 67 watts or so, and for me, the additional power usage is well worth avoiding the hassle of DMA lockups and user intervention on system reboots. |

I noticed the DMA lockup as well. Every now and then it gets stuck on one frame and has to be restarted and reconfigured.
The works smooth by contrast, for the most part. Saw a guy letting go a slim on Craigslist for cheap. Might give it a try. |

If you know how to setup the subnet for the DMA(s), it's probably not as complicated as it sounds in that greenbutton thread.

IPTV M3U Channel List
Will this work with a IPTV M3U Channel list?
Thanks

OpenDCT does not currently support M3U channels lists like MythTV and it does not support HLS. Instead of using a channel list, at this time, you would need to create a capture device for each entry in the M3U channel list. This would also have the benefit of allowing SageTV to know that all of those channels could be tuned at the same time if desired.
I get the feeling that you might also be misunderstanding how this plugin for WMC works. This plugin just provides a web server hosted on your WMC computer that allows you to easily change the channel for live TV for the purpose of recording the live TV playback. IPTV capture devices have their own URL provided by the device itself for watching the captured playback. The two web servers are completely unaware of each other, do not even need to be on the same network and will have completely different IP addresses.

Problem
I've added the below line into opentdtc.properties file after stopping the service. But after saving and restarting the service I do not see any new entries in the sagetv.device. I only see my HDHR's. Is there something else I could be doing wrong?
generic.http.device_names_csv=IPTV1,IPTV2 Chris

302 is a redirect. The code doesn't account for those since it was designed for fairly simple devices. I'll need to add support for that to work.
