Anybody using the Google GFHD200?

I'm looking at switching from Time Warner to Google Fiber. The TV box they offer is GFHD200.

Has anybody interfaced it to their SageTV system? I have the HD-PVR, so I assume I'd connect the GFHD200 AV outputs to the component inputs on the HD-PVR.

I was previously thinking of just getting the Colossus, but from what I read in the Hauppauge Colossus HD-PVR thread, it's still not stable after all this time.

Isn't that kind of like buying a car transporter to haul your car around, instead of just driving the car?

Just curious, but you DO know the GFHD200 is technically a SageTV extender... it just will only connect to the google fiber box (sadly).

Why in world would want to hook a Colossus to Google Fiber which is all ready is SageTV ?.
The HD-PVR 2 or Colossus 2 is a way to go

For those who asked "why", well, I like SageTV and it does what I need. It literally took years (and lots of help from this forum) to get it working reliably.
I have not seen the Google GFHD200 in action, but I assume it is more limiting than SageTV. If I find it does everything I want, then maybe I'll eventually retire SageTV.

@SHS, thanks for the tip on HDPVR 2 and Collossus 2. I'll do some research and see which works best with Sage TV.

I see and the only limitations I'm aware of are NO DVD Playback, Photo Import, Video Import, and Music Import and some other Online Stuff

Far I know of the Google GFHD?00 device would be the same as HD?00 so just technically more update SageTV extender that all

Compared to my HD-PVR / SageTV / HD300 system:
  • Does the GFHD200 remote have 30 second skip forward function when playing recorded shows?
  • Can I transfer my recorded shows from the storage server onto my tablet?
  • Can I expand the storage on the storage server with additional hard disks?

1: That I don't know as I'm sure much of it has changes when I last saw it just over 3 years ago, I do know they even bump it up to 8 tuner now with GFRG200 and 210 is now all one Network + Storage Box with 2 TB build in hardware package if I'm reading the FAQ rigth.
2: No it did have support at time but that could have changes by now
3: Not that I know of as the Storage Box was fix 2TB.
