RadioTimes XMLTV feed ending on 16 June 2016

Limited now to 24 hours at a time

What is the best alternative now to get x weeks in advance EPG data for the UK?

XML EPG

I've used Digiguide from the start in my setup. UK Obv. Digiguide has always seemed fine to me.
https://digiguide.tv/

Along with Stephanes importer.

Only 2 days of guide data left so I better switch!

So currently I use Birtles XMLTV GUI to grab the xmltv and then Stephanes importer to load into sagetv

Whats the path exactly to upload digiguide data?

Is there a good guide anywhere to migration?

Set Birtles XMLTV GUI to use Digiguide see http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/wiki...?title=UK_Digi

Sign up for digiguide and pay.
Download digiguide and from menu go to Tools, customize and enable web service. Chose you channels.
Use grabbers as normal with xmltv importer.

I think Schedules Direct has UK data now, don't they?

to test, I just did a quick trial on my test system (easy to reset back to a blank slate), and it took me about 20 minutes tops to have sage up and running with Schedules Direct (IP20 Local Broadcast), and another few minutes the guide was completely populated. The Schedules Direct subscription costs $25/year, and the setup is not completely within the sageUI, but following the user guide was pretty easy (This was the first time I've ever tried Schedules Direct).

Thanks fellas,

Giving the digiguide a go on the 7 day trail though supporting schedules direct seems like a good thing.

To migrate from RadioTimes xmltv to digiguide I only needed to change the grabber in birtles xmltv GUI and the post processor. Configured the grabber to use the digiguide webservice.

I had to revisit the channel setup in stephanes xmltv importer and choose the the xmltv data for the channel in the drop down to the right of each channel.

Did a grab in xmltv GUI, an upload in xmltv importer, and then the usual disable/enable channel in the sagetv setup video source edit channels in order to force the guide data to pickup.

Guide data restored. Looks a little different but my recording schedule seems restored.

Cheers,

Michael

Switched all my channels to digiguide using dg2xml.exe from xml tv importer. Had all satellite channels using this so was only a minor annoyance to switch ota to use this. All up and running again.
I'm glad I spotted this post as couldn't find much on web about radio times changing recently.

I've moved over to Sage Open Source Linux version so been using the schedules direct plugin and their data, has been good with some nice program descriptions, seasons, episodes etc but recently I have lost Channel 5 data (no great loss really ) but support advise they are aware of it and should be fixed soon.

The issue with Channel 5 and it's variations has been escalated to our upstream and they are working to resolve the issue.

On digiguide how many weeks UK guide data do you get?

With radio times xmltv I'm sure I was getting around 5-6 weeks

Digiguide seems to be 7 days but the web site claims 14 days or more and does not cite any restrictions on the free trial.

I get 2 weeks minimum on most channels but some have about 3 weeks worth of data.

I got my SD account setup, but haven't had chance to setup a V9 test server yet. Are you getting season and episode nos. for all series, that is the one thing that annoys me about stephans importer because its in the digiguide data.

Difficult to confirm when you say all Series, if you give me some examples I can report what the EPG reports.

But a lot of programmes do have series & episode data. Actually when I briefly used DigiGuide I wasn't that impressed by the guide data at all and went back to the radio times data.

So it turns out that if you pay you get more weeks worth of data - great.

But there is definitely an issue here with season / episode number

For example:

Code:
  <programme start="20160716053500 +0100" stop="20160716055500 +0100" channel="29">
    <title>Rules of Engagement</title>
    <sub-title>100th</sub-title>
    <desc>In the last episode of series seven, Brenda goes into labour on Jen and Adam&apos;s wedding day, but Jeff has reservations about being in the delivery room. Adam persuades Jen to make some alternative arrangements for their marriage ceremony. When Timmy&apos;s work visa expires due to Russell&apos;s carelessness, the two are forced to patch up their differences. Ed Begley Jr guests.</desc>
    <credits>
      <director>Tom Hertz</director>
      <actor>Patrick Warburton</actor>
      <actor>Megyn Price</actor>
      <actor>Oliver Hudson</actor>
      <actor>Bianca Kajlich</actor>
      <actor>Adhir Kalyan</actor>
      <actor>David Spade</actor>
    </credits>
    <date>2013</date>
    <category>Sitcom</category>
    <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">6.12.</episode-num>
    <previously-shown/>
    <subtitles type="teletext"></subtitles>
    <star-rating>
      <value>3/5</value>
    </star-rating>
  </programme>
The program description shows this as Season 7 episode 13.

But those values do not make it into the programme meta data.

This is a little annoying.

Michael

Actually main difference between xmltv and digiguide xml is for RT:

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">4.15/24.</episode-num>

and for digiguide

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">4.15.</episode-num>

Maybe that's the reason

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">7.8.</episode-num>

The programmes import for me.

But I was expecting to see the season and episode displayed on programe information or via the "edit metadata" option I have from one of the installed plugins.

I do however see them in the episode title but that is the action of the LMGestion importer advanced options to amend the episode title.

Where do you see season and episode?

Ep title too, don't see it anywhere else. It's been set up for so long I don't know if it ever did...
