Strange Problem with Sage Service

I used the latest windows installer tonight to upgrade my Sage install. Everything seemed to go fine but when I started the service then started sage and looked at upcoming recordings it was blank. When I try to tune any channel I get encoder not found. I recovered from last night backup same problem. Did a basic uninstall and reinstalled same problem. But if I start sage without using the service everything works. What is the difference with the tuners from service and just running sage. I'm just going to leave sage open on the server so it will record tonight.

I'm probably just going to do a clean install this weekend more wondering why it would work when not using the service, and why a recovery of sage would not work either. It was working before the upgrade. I also have several different tuners one HDPrime, HR Homerun, and PVR2 non worked so it's not OpenDCT problem.

Maybe the 'user' the service is running as doesn't have the proper permissions to the HW?

You could be on the right train of thought there. If the recordings are being written to a network share or mapped drive, that will almost certainly not work if the service is running as local system.

I will check that but these are all local drives.

It could also be failing to access config files in the filesystem if it's the wrong user maybe as well.

It was the wrong user must of been reset some how with the upgrade to the newest version.

I've noticed a sumilar problem with the Windows service after upgrading to the Jan 19 release using the installer. The Sage service gets switched from automatic startup to manual startup by the installer. Previous settings (automatic) are not preserved. This caused me to miss several days worth of recordings.
