Fanart

I'm doing some plugin cleanup before attempting another 7 to 9 upgrade. The two following plugins:

Phoenix Fanart for SageTV V7 by bialio
and
Phoenix Fanart for SageTV by JREkiwi

Both are installed on my system - likely I had bialio's first and then added JREkiwi's and never uninstalled the older one.

JREkiwi's says it replaced bialio's. The problem I'm running into is that if I remove bialio's, I still have fanart on my server client, but now fanart is missing on all of my extenders? I still see options in the customize detail setup related to, I believe, CMT based on the version number that is in the title for the settings window (fanart enabled/disabled, scaling, fanart directory, etc) on the customize detailed setup.

What am I missing here for JREkiwi's plugin to be allowing fanart on my HD300s?

Fanart should be very easy to get back - so I would just blow away any fan art you have on your server and clients. Then when you get to V9 installed add whatever fan art system you want. If you install Diamond or Phoenix you'll get fan art for free.

If you want the default UI I'm not sure what you need for fanart (I don't even remember what this plugin does )

On you HD300 check the settings under Detail Setup / Customize / Fanart Options.

Ok thanks - I was just expecting where JREkiwi said that his plugin ultimately replaced yours, that the extenders would show the fanart with his. I guess that means I need to use yours still with the standard stv. I tried a test upgrade to v9 and got the same results.

I would love to go to Phoenix - unfortunately the InfoPopup/CallerID plugin doesn't work in it according to others I have seen post here. I've sent some PM's to ShadeBlue back in Nov about it but no response to date..

You do not need the bialio version installed. You do need to check that on the HD300 the JREkiwi plugin is enabled in Setup / SageTV Plugins and configured in Detail Setup / Customize / Fanart Options

Hi John,

So I played out some scenarios by having Bialio's plugin installed only, having only your plugin (and by definition CMT) installed, and then both.

With Bialio's only, I see fanart on the server and hd300s

With yours only, I see fanart on the server but not extenders

With both installed, I see fanart on both.


With just yours installed:

- On the server, under Customize, I see Fanart Options, Metadata Options, and IMDB Options.

- On the extenders, under Customize, I see Metadata Options and IMDB Options only - there is no Fanart Options. On the extenders, if I select "Metadata Options", the top of the list is "Phoenix Fanart Configuration". I can select "Configure" and see the "Phoenix Fanart Configuration" which looks identical to the individual "Fanart Options" I see in the "Customize" screen on the server, but "Fanart Options" does not show up as its own individual entry in the Customize menu list like it does on the server.

Any ideas? I mean I can keep both installed to get Fanart on extenders and the server and still have access to the additional options your plugins bring to the table, but seems counter productive when all should be able to be accomplished with one set of plugins...

On the extender check that the plugin is enabled.( Setup / SageTV Plugins / Installed Plugins / UI Mod) Sometimes, because of the way pre-requisite checking works it can end up disabled.

I checked and they are enabled. I don't see the same thing happen on my test system.

I'm chasing enough SageTV ghosts and plugin ghosts that I pretty resigned now to rebuilding my server from scratch, which should take care of this and other issues permanently.

I've done a fresh 9 install and having an issue. I've posted the log over in the Sage TV v9 Customizations thread if you have a moment. Tnx.
