Question SageTV Service is initializing...

This is mainly an observation but I'm not sure if there may some problem with my system also...

I've noticed since I switched from V7 to V9 that the SageTV service takes an extremely long time to start up (up to 5 minutes). After I reboot when I open the SageTV client I'll get the "SageTV Service is initializing..." message on the splash screen. After a while the client will start and everything is fine. I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Windows 10 Home
SageTV V9.0.14.568

You may wish to check sage.properties for:
limited_carny_init= setting

limited_carny_init=true helps speed up the start process, especially if you do not use Intelligent Recording feature. Performs that work in the background (when set to true) instead of waiting for it to complete (if set to false)

Thanks. That appears to have sped things up a bit

fyi, limited_carny_init=true is now the default setting in the current builds - but if it was already set as false from a previous version, it won't get changed to true.

This just happened to me out of the blue. Sage has been fine, but tonight I restarted and it seemed to hang at "SageTV Service is initializing". I waited several minutes, and rebooted, still saw the hang, did a system restore, still saw the same thing. I was getting ready to restore the system from an image backup, when I thought to check here. Fortunately I found this thread, and just waited it out. After 5-10 minutes it completed and SageTV started. I have set limited_carny_init=true. Hopefully it won't be a problem in the future.
