Avermedia Live Gamer HD card

Is there any hope of this card working within sage?

You need to check to see if it has DirectShow support.

Yes I bought one and have been testing it. I'm waiting for a colossus 2 to show up that I ordered after realizing the avermedia did not do 5.1.

I tried it with sage and it shows in the list but sage crashes when I preview it.

Actually it's just black on channel preview. It's when I tune to a channel that the sagetv windows closes.

Post a screenshot of that capture device from SageTV from the source page
The HD-PVR 2, Colossus 2 will do DD 5.1 it not very reliable you may well just give it up on 5.1 and just stick to Stereo

Darn I thought that by ordering a collosus 2 I would have it perfect.

All I really want is to be able to view the hdmi input on my desktop. Does it work reliably just previewing it?

where that screenshot I req in SageTV with Live Gamer HD install from the SageTV source page so I whip up a registry so you test it to see if it works in SageTV with out a black/blank screen.

So when you add a capture source it come up as (AVerMedia HD Capture C985 Bus 2) is that right ?.

Download the avermedia_c985.reg.txt rename it to avermedia_c985.reg
Close or even Stop SageTV Services from running in background
DBL click on avermedia_c985.reg yes add it to your registry and reboot
Start SageTV I hope lee you setup your decoder for playback if not you may want just install the latest LAV filter any way
Any go Setup | Detailed Setup | Video / Audio it should look like this

I have pass on that I had to much bad lucky try to that even on my own local system by remote.

Thanks for you consideration, I will be back using sagetv when I get the colossus I ordered, if it ever shows up.
