Guest stars getting duplicated?

I've noticed that with recorded shows, the names listed under "Guest Stars" seem to get duplicated. If I look at the guide data before a show is recorded, everything looks fine. Once a recording is done though, sometimes the names under Guest Stars start showing up twice. It doesn't happen every time, and it doesn't even appear to do it with every name listed under Guest Stars.

I suspect that it might be BMT doing this. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate what I am talking about.

This happened on my old Windows 7 server as well as my new Windows 10 server. This was a complete fresh install on Windows 10, the only thing I kept was my wiz.bin.

Any ideas?

Since there are photos for both entries, it's likely that's data coming in from Schedules Direct. I'm not sure if this is a SageTV issue or Schedules Direct issue since I've seen this happen before and couldn't figure out how it was happening. We only add the actors for each program once, so I would feel inclined to say it's a Schedules Direct issue, but I'm not sure I've seen a program that had the same actor twice. I added filtering in the SageTV code to weed out duplicates and they appeared to go away for me at least.

Please open a ticket at the Schedules Direct website and include the programID (EP012345566787 or whatever) so that I can check the raw server data.

I don't think it's Schedule's Direct that is doing it. Until a recording is finished, there are no duplicate names in the guide info.

Look at the attached images. In the before image, you can see Charlize Theron is only listed once. This image was taken while the show was being recorded. In the after image (which was taken a couple minutes after the recording was finished), Charlize Theron is now listed twice. However, the other guest stars are only listed once (they aren't duplicated).

I believe BMT does meta data lookups once the program has finished, so I suspect that is the root cause.

I also attached the portion of phoenix.log where the meta data look up takes place. I couldn't find anything relevant in it though.

Also, a screenshot of the BMT web interface for the information about this recording. Charlize Theron is only listed once here. However, the other two guest stars aren't listed at all (these are the ones that aren't duplicated in the screenshot).

If you look at the TVDB page for this episode, you can see Charlize Theron is the only person listed as a guest star: https://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=episode...=6123048&lid=7

It seems like BMT is "adding" any guest stars in happens to find in the TVDB, but leaving the existing guest stars (from the Schedule's Direct data) intact. Thus resulting in some names being duplicated.

Hmm. The message at the bottom of the phoenix.png screenshot might explain why this is happening.

Perhaps if I disable "Preserve Original Metadata for Recordings" in the Phoenix settings, that might stop this from happening. I'll give it a shot.
