HDHomerun Quatro - info inside

Hopefully this will help someone out.

I've had hdhomeruns for years, starting with the original one tuner ones (I had 4) to the dual connects (2 tuners a piece).

In my obsession to clean up cables I got the HDhomerun Quatro https://www.silicondust.com/product/hdhomerun-quatro/ which has 4 tuners.

They do offer the extended one, which only has 2 tuners but does 264 compression however I don't think anyone has gotten the compression to work with Sage, and I was looking to make my setup cleaner.

I did have issues getting the quatro connected and this is what I found.

1. Do not physically disconnect old hdhomeruns until you uninstall them from the sagetv interface. If you happen to do that, edit out sagetv entries in the properties file
2. make sure you install the Hdhomerun management software on the same system that you are running sage. When installing the software it will only have the BDA driver option of sagetv IF it is installed on a system running sage. If you install the hdhomerun software/configure it on a system not running sage it will not give you the sagetv option and will not work with sagetv.

The above isn't unique to the Quatro. It's been a (documented) requirement for all HDHR tuners, from day-one.

Glad you got it working. Please post back with some details about how it's RF sensitivity compares to the tuners it replaced.
