How to get videos on NAS with SageTV Miniclient?

Hi - I have a problem that I'm not sure how to solve.

I have the majority of my videos stored up on my QNAP NAS storage device (pretty much what the NAS is there for, right?). I can access and watch most videos from the NAS just fine through my STX-HD100 and STP-HD300.

However, if I start to "Browse Folders" in the SageTV Miniclient, the Android App locks up almost immediately and must be force-terminated to close.

I suspect that there may be some login or access rights to conquer to get past this problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,

AzJazz

Browse Network (not folders) works fine here to access my NAS shares...

Oddly, I have been able to get to my NAS folders now ... Sort of.

I'm not quite sure what happened to fix the visibility issue. I think I was able to prevent the lock-up/force close issue after I did a "Browse Recordings", which are stored on a local drive instead of my NAS drive. After I did that, the lock-ups stopped happening.

Now I am able to see and sort-of play my NAS imported recordings after that.

But ... sort of.

Here's the thing: I can play live TV without any problems through the SageTV Miniclient. I can also play any of my SageTV recordings without any problems through the Miniclient.

However, if I try to play anything that is stored on my NAS drive, the playback is either a black screen and no audio (possibly due to .MVK Matroska videos), or very choppy audio/video that is effectively unplayable.

Huh.

My NAS has quick file access - usually at least 100MB/sec up or down. So, it shouldn't be a bandwidth bottleneck.

What could be causing this?
