Search function is broken if you aren't a user

I mentioned to some friends that sage was alive again and one of them discovered that the search here is fubar'd if you aren't logged in.

As soon as you hit enter, the forum software says

"You answered the NoSpam! question incorrectly. Please reevaluate your answer or, if you found yourself unable to answer it, you can refresh for another question if the administrator has enabled multiple questions. If you find yourself repeatedly unable to answer the NoSpam! questions, please contact the forum administration."

It never gave an opportunity to answer a "NoSpam" question.

I logged out to look and saw it right below the Search by Keyword box.

Many people suggest using Google search with the site:forums.sagetv.com option for better results anyway.

you don't see that option if you're using the basic dropdown search. Only if you go to the advanced search page.

Perhaps the forum admin should disable the feature in the forum software so people will try google instead.

I think I'll put volunteering to help with some forum updates on my post-retirement list. Coming up soon.

Maybe I'll just disable it for searches... it was really meant to hinder user registrations by spammers.
