I think that folks want to visually see the show fast forwarding, which is the experience we get with SageTV on an HD300 for example. With Plex (on Firetv4k), I don't get any of that fast motion. If I hit the fast forward button on the remote once, the video comes to a complete stop, and then restarts at the new position in the show - I could never see what it was skipping over. If I hold the button down, the same thing occurs, it skips many more seconds but never shows the video as it's skipping.

I see. I've never used that feature on SageTV. Probably why I don't miss it
