As long as you don't run ubuntu hwe 16.04 or ubuntu bionic 18.04 4.15.0 then the ppa should get your fully up and running now. The 4.15.0 releases will not build due to the way the build system depends on certain packages, and launchpad removed those packages...

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:b-rad/kernel+mediatree+hauppauge
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-mediatree
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-hauppauge

Which kernels will properly auto update drivers etc? I am currently experimenting with ubuntu base to try to get better functioning from my hauppauge hardware. Mainline kernels don't seem to get any updates in a timely matter.
