I have switched to Channels DVR as my goto DVR ... I use EMBY to View my collection of Movies ... I probably will be switching to just using ChannelsDVR as they now make it that you can import movies and Series.

As A bonus I get to record TVE and Pluto in Channels DVR.... Also remote viewing in Channels DVR is outstanding.

What tuners can Channels DVR utilize, anything besides HDHomerun tuners? And what am I paying $80 year for?

Apparently, EMBY wants WinTV 8.5 installed to use my Hauppauge tuners. Guess what: Not Compatible with my tuners (Colossus & 1212). Fail?

How? I don't receive OTA with any consistency - exactly 60 miles between two big city towers, aka JUST out of reliable range for both.

So, it's cable or satellite tuners for me. Does that take EMBY and Channels DVR out of the mix? No idea what 'Pluto' is

You say $80 dollars .. I am paying $25 dollars to Sched direct for guide data to use SageTV. Where guide is Included in my $80 Dollars.

You can try the trial and see what you can record from your provider. 30 Days is more than enough time to see if you like it. You can View on GoogleTV FireTV AppleTV. Android tablets Ipads etc ..

Continuing the Hijack NextPVR recordings from Pluto TV too, without a Channels DVR subscription. With the next release of NextPVR the EPG updates can be automated since for the non-Schedules Direct channels the only have about five hours of data.

On topic sub added added TVMaze support to NextPVR a few releases back.

NEXTPVR is ok but there is no real full featured Android Client ... I would have to install KODI which I really do not like ... and KODI has to be sideloaded on FireTV. Too much of a hassle.
