Rebuild of all .properties files?
All, for various reasons, I have never let BMT make new .properties files. For Movies, I let BMT create it when I first added the movie, then turned creation off. For imported TV shows I used a different program.
I now find that most of my older movie files have some bad data (mostly OriginalAirDate) and almost all my imported TV shows have no OriginalAirDate. My questions are: 1. Would it be OK to remove (I'll be backing them up, somehow, just in case) all my .properties files, and let BMT make all new ones? 2. Can BMT safely do this on it's own (automatically)? (most of my movies are just movie name, no date, and TV shows are "SeriesName - SxxExx")

I can't answer #2, but for #1, I have frequently removed unwanted .properties files with no noticeable ill effects.

My .properties files see to keep recreating themselves. I am not sure what is doing it - BMT or it may be CMT.

I think mine sometimes do that too. Since I only run BMT on occasion, I think it might be CMT or Phoenix (Not sure whether I have CMT installed). One of those insists on regenerating the fanart files I delete, so I have given up deleting them; the space-savings achieved isn't worth the futile effort.

OK, I tested this last night, and it seamed to work fine (just did it on 3 movies).
After I did this, I notice that when I went to the Show details, it's still showing the file date, not the Original Air Date. Is there anyway to show the Original air date?

A couple a days ago, something started to rename my new recordings either "Surround" or "Stereo" and blitz their recording info in the process (see thread). I suspect now CMT, the extended_filenames property and the new jetty 9 jars all have conspired to make this happen, just not sure how yet. |
