Arrow STV: MCEXCON Custom UI v2.2.2.5 Jan 12

The UI is intended for the general public use and is a contribution to the SageTV community. Any changes can be made as required, however the SageTV logo must remain unchanged on the home page. The logo on the top left of each page can be removed.

UI Features include:
- new interface with quick help and memorized last views
- 2 quick link dashboards (customizable: features & titles) in main menu and TV menu
- commercial advance and Closed Captioning (CC)
- recordings dashboard in TV menu
- onlight spotlight
- Link to Online Movie site NEW
- customizable menus
- advanced PVR settings
- parental control on Video Library (in addition to TV recordings)
- tedious parental control on TV recordings NEW
- customizable User Interface (background, logo, font size...)
- Malore multimenu (Upcoming movies, Premieres...)
- Recordings Icon Bar for quick information
- LiveTV available on every page
- New TV Guide views
- IMDB database and contextual search
- Weather (mldbude and Advanced Weather Suite)
- RSS News Feeds
- external dvd player
- external media player
- Recordings Utilities: Partial Recordings deletion, Orphan files deletion NEW

You can download the STV from here

See changelog from here (instructions.txt).

Installation Instructions

1) The content of the XMZV2.x.x.x.zip file must be installed into the following path:
...\STVs\XMZV2 For example: C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\STVs\XMZV2

2) The content of the JavaR1.zip file must be installed into your Java library extensions
directory (i.e. C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\lib\ext)

3) The content of the SageTVCoreR2b.zip file must be installed into your main SageTV
directory. Please make sure nested folders get extracted correctly.

4) Within SageTV, select the XMZVx.x.x.x.stv file from the Advanced Setup Menu,
and then restart SageTV.

TO ENABLE CLOSED CAPTION SUPPORT (Instructions provided by Cayar, thanks)
You must be using a Hauppauge PVR250/350 card (the Roslyns, blackbird & PVR-USB2 cards do not work). You must be using a driver version (1.7 and up) that supports imbedding CC into the recording. You must have enabled the CCinDVD registry key. For driver versions below 1.18.016.22092 you can use this reg file . For driver versions after 1.18.016.22092, see this site for directions on adding the correct setting to your registry. You have to reboot your computer the first time you enable the CCinDVD key for it to take effect. The recording quality used must be a DVD style profile and of course the show must actually have CC.

While many changes and additions to parts of the code were made, a lot of of this code is derived from other people's STVs and code. So to give proper credit where it is due thanks go out to MlbDude, Malore, Opus4, Salbst, Nielm, Narflex, Cayar ... and others.

v2.2.2.5 (last version changelog):
- fixed Advanced Delete feature not working correctly in various Recordings Menus
- added Simple Delete choice to Advanced Delete function
- added advanced Delete to Recording Detail delete item
- added delete option to OSD option pages
- fixed Guide key to normal Guide when bind key to Mini Guide is not enabled in OSD Player Settings
-- by default Mini Guide is called by Custom1 button in OSD Player
- added Tedious PCC to OSD player change channel and LiveTV function
- fixed scrolling arrows back to prior STV version
- added Custom3 command for quick access to CC, only accessible if CC is available for the playing show
- added Link to Online movie Site (www.movielink.com) to Main Menu Dashboard
-- home page and enable/disable feature available in Setup/Plug-in/Dashboard

Please report any problem and suggestion to the forum. We hope you will enjoy it.

Thats actually is pretty spiffy.

I was wondering how far studio (that is if thats what you used) was capable of doing other things like that when it comes. Nice.

Very cool. Nice effort.

Don't suppose it supports COMSKIP, does it?

Thanks!

Well it looks very nice on my 20" LCD using the client, but is unreadable for the most part on my 35" SDTV. The menu text looks OK, but the guides, OSD, etc are way to small. Is there an obvious way to increase the text size?

XMZ UI updated - v2.1.9

changelog:

- various fixes (including OSD player)
- added UI setting in Setup Menu
- Added News Feed (see respective forums for installation)
- Added link to Spotlight (Snapstream for the time being)
- Added IMDB Search (see respective forums for installation) in Video Library & Media Library
- fixed navigation from dashboard to menu
- Added Advanced PVR Setup Menu:
-- aggressive_negative_profiling - if enabled, Intelligent Recording will try harder to understand what the user doesn't like
-- remove_padding_on_back_to_back_favorites - when two Favorites are on back-to-back on the same channel it causes any padding to be ignored for that junction
-- autohide_osd - specifies whether or not the OSD should autohide after the osd timeout expires
-- osd_autohide_time - milliseconds for autohide of OSD
-- scheduling_lookahead - the amount of time SageTV should plan out its recording schedule in milliseconds
-- videoframe/ff_time - milliseconds adjustment for FF
-- videoframe/ff_time2 - milliseconds adjustment for FF2
-- videoframe/rew_time - milliseconds adjustment for REW (should be negative)
-- videoframe/rew_time2 - milliseconds adjustment for REW2 (should be negative)
-- videoframe/skip_dvd_menus - when playing back a DVD SageTV will attempt to skip over any DVD Menus and start playing the movie directly, sometimes this is not allowed by the DVD

Just installed along with sage 2.1....I like it..I really like the tv guide.

One thing that bothers me, or i havent figured out how to change yet, is the buttons across the bottom. I dont use sage to play music or show photos and i was wondering how to remove those buttons or if we even can move them.

You can use your own walpaper. The 3 wallpapers included are for example only. The STV was developed on a Toshiba laptop.
