Beta 2.2.3 Not Starting

Hi,

I am trying to use the Beta 2.2.3, but it is hanging on the startup.

The splash screen says "SageTV Service is Initializing..."

I tried several times and even tried a clean install. I was using the latest RC version of 2.1 prior to this. Any ideas?

I have attached my log files it looks like it is getting stuck on something to do with the java?...?!

TIA

Dan

Are you waiting longer than the 20 or so seconds you have logs for?

Yep, I waited about 20mins at one stage.

I have attached the logs, to my previous post.

I tried one more thing, after I posted before. I removed the xmltv plugin line from the sage properties. It then started, I then exited and reentered the line for the plugin. It restared but I had no access to it to set up my sources.

As you have probably realised, the problem is in the service (the java errors in the sageclient log simply mean that it cannot connect).
The usual culprits for startup in my experience are:
corrupt wiz.bin
corrupt mpeg2 file

Re removing and re-entering the xmltv plugin... What do you mean by 'no access' (I notice that you posted in the Sage EPG server down thread -- which is odd because with the EPG plugin, you should never access the sage servers...)

Hi Neil,

What I mean by no access was that I could not select xmltv line up when setting up my sources.

I posted in the other thread because I was having trouble downloading version 2.1 to try and go back a version.

Cheers

Um... are you sure that you entered the EPG plugin line correctly?
Check for errors in the sagetv_0.log regarding XMLTVEpgPlugin

It could becuase you do not have the files in the "xmltv" folder in root folder of ?:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\ like ?:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\xmltv\ which then look for XMLTVImportPlugin.class file

The files are in there, and I have tried reinstalling the plugin. I think that even with the plugin you need, access to the sagetv server.

This error means that Sage cannot find the .class file

Check that there are no spaces at the end of the line in the .properties file (a common problem with copy/pasing from the howto)
