Well, Ulead DVD Movie Factory is about that simple as well.
But MyDVD is a good one, too. Jason Quote:

I agree, love Ulead DVD Movie Factory. You can get down into the details if you want to, otherwise - just select files, select menu, burn. Keep an eye out for this feature coming soon from Crashless and I. We're finishing up some last minute bug catching right now and should be able to release something (probably alpha) very soon.

I thought that this was the 'where's 3.0??' thread not the 'my favourit DVD software' thread!
I want to see more comments about hear-say, roumers and speculation |

How many people are actually going to install the beta? I will, but only if it comes out during the current "off-season". If it comes out after my tuners get running hot and heavy again, I'll have to wait till I know it's stable.

i'll install it tonight if it comes out since i really haven't found sage to be a rock since version 1.4 and version 2.0.
still very stable but not like 1.4 and 2.0 were. the only thing i hope they change is that the sage decoders become a choice for install rather then automatic i prefer to have a minimal amount of codecs on my pc. |

LOL yeah well most of that time i include for my thinking up what parts to take and use for the video intro and outro as well as for menu transitions as well as how i want the menus and everything to flow to make the DVD look the way i want it to. The actual editing out the clips i want takes about a day to get just right and then it takes less than a day to actually put them in and do the menus and that but since the other stuff is part of the creation proccess i include that in the time it takes to do it. Edit: Yeah thats true the menus don't get looked at for long but at least for me it was the menus on commercial DVD's that first grabed my attention when DVD's started out and was part of why i was so quick to abandon VHS i just liked how cool the menus looked and how some of them transitioned it was well it was just cool so i decided i had to have the cool in my dvd's even if it does take longer i just feel it's worth it and that it's part of the dvd experience but i guess im one of the few that thinks that. I did really like the menus in ID4 i thought that one was great. Yeah the MyDVD does look good and so does uleads but they just don't allow me to do some of the things i wanna do with the menus so i kept finding myself going back to Winon and decided that thats what i liked so thats what i use. I just like having the cool intros and transitions and stuff so till theirs a program that will do that and the stuff that the others do ill take the long way about it. I just means i have to take my time. I had a great one done up for the ST atlantis series premire with the city rising for the intro and dialing the gate for transitions and the puddle jumper coming down and going through the gate for starting the show. and a still of the steps for the main menu and the atlantis gate for the scene selections I had toyed with having amnimated loops for the menu backgrounds but just didn't have the time to spend on cuting the video i wanted into frames that i could edit the way i wanted and go through all the reanimating them to put into videos. I did that once and it took way to much time even for me. Though if i was to i would have come up with some nice ones using the atlantis computers and displays lol. Never did get that video finished had to reinstall the PC and lost the menus because i didn't save the template onto my permanate drive so the videos and that are still sitting on the drive for me when i get the time to do it. Anyway as far as 3.0 rumors well i heard that the government classified it top secret because they're planing on using it in their top secret ufo projects so they're making freys cover it up. This also explains what happened to studio. Oops shouldn't have mentioned that now some guys in black suits and glasses will be knocking on my door

Geo - EXACTLY! I keep thinking the same thing. My wife would freak, if I put together a box that crashed, didn't work, etc and took down our current box. I have been thinking the same thing for awhile now!

Just backup the Frey Technologies folder, and the windows registry file and that will likely be safe enough.

My wife is out of town so I have free reign on the HTPC this weekend. I will just set the DirecTivo to record everything Sage would normally record over the next week so I can play! Of course I'll have to cancel all of her shows on TLC, but she has so many to watch now she'll never notice

Glad I'm not the only one in the same boat. My wife (and I, I guess) have shows that we normally want to watch during the week, so having a bad upgrade presents a major issue, as we normally have to record what we want to watch, since she doesn't get off work until later in the evening.
I did have an idea though, I could always connect the TV's coax to cable as well, that way, when I need to do an upgrade, the TV is still in watchable condition. Then, whenever I get my Logitech 880, I could have an activity that is called "Watch Old TV" or something, and the remote control for watching TV would be transparent. |
