Thanks for clearing that I've been messing around with this on and off for while now, obviously without luck. Hopefully StephaneM will get theTeletext stripper working soon.

Couple of bugs to report.
This isn't fixed for me. Still resets to defaults after screensaver. I have it set to automatically enable embedded captions not external. When I manually disable internal captions and enable external for a show and then pause and walk away. If the screensaver has come on and I return the external will be disabled and the internal enabled again.

Also a problem with the pause feature where it allows you to choose the caption. By default I noticed it jumps to the nearest caption. For example. I was watching a movie and there was about 30 seconds of silence. I pressed pause around 15 seconds into the silence and the captions automatically adjusted 15 seconds to the next caption even though I didn't want that. As always thanks for the continued support on this important import

I'll check that out. Thanks for the detail.

If you press pause again, it will start play without changing the caption timing

Try this one.

I didn't realize that. I'll give that a try. The wife probably won't like that. I would think you'd only want the adjustment to take effect if you hit select after pause. I always use play to resume playback. This will take me a while to get used to. I usually hit pause again to step frame by frame slow mo sometimes. Does this mean I can't do that anymore when the external captions are enabled? PS thanks for the new file in the other post for the screensaver fix...I'll give it a whirl

garbled CC

I am still trying to understand why this is happening, and maybe someone can help...

When I play live TV for ABC HD here in Chicago on Comcast via QAM (HDHomeRun) I can see the embedded Closed Captioned rendered by either Intervideo or Cyberlink drivers. And it works really well. If I record it however, and then play it back, the captions are garbled... BUT ccextractor seems to be able to extract them fine, however the timing issues are to much for my wife and my WAF factor is in the toilet... That and one of her hearing aids just died after ten years (there goes another $1K).

So perhaps the CC is not recorded properly, but ccextractor can still see them? Any ideas how I might tweak this?

Any help is appreciated.

I suppose the question is. Do you want it to automatically go into the Caption Skip adjustment mode when you press pause? or would it be better to require another key press when paused to put it into Caption Skip adjustment mode?

Maybe make it an option to do it either way. I'm not sure but some people may like that it goes into the mode when pressing pause. I would definitely prefer another key press when paused to put it into the caption adjust mode.

The best way to handle this is to enter skip mode when pressing up/down when paused. This will resolve the issue.

* Up/Down during playback = 500ms adjustments
* Up/Down during playback = caption skip

When you pause, unpause do nothing unless Up/Down were used to do caption skip.

Regards,
Stéphane.

How about I do this?

I just get rid of all the other key options (skip etc) and just have

* Up/Down during playback = dynamic 500ms adjustments
* Up/Down when paused = caption skip
* Select = save caption skip time
* Play, Play/Pause = resume play without save

I might still use Stop to reset all the caption adjustments back to 0

Perhaps this? :
* Up/Down during playback or paused = dynamic 500ms adjustments/Enter skip/adjustment mode
* Left Right when paused = caption skip (left right when in adjustment mode during playback pauses video and enters skip mode like how it works now)
* Select = save caption skip time
* Play, Play/Pause = resume play without save
* Don't enter skip/adjustment mode when paused unless a direction is pressed
* Stop resets adjustment

When I try to import this I get an error message (after it supposedly imports) saying something like (sorry I can't be more specific atm) "You have an outdated version of sagemc.jar (null) installed...". And after my import attempt, this error message appears each time upon changing to a new menu item.

Any idea what this might be?

I am not able to see the options under settings>sagemc>extras

well, do you have an outdated version of sagemc.jar? SageMC 6.3.7 looks to have sagemc.jar dated 1/26/08. Check the date of the version in your JARs folder.

edit: actually ,the 6.3.7 update file I have has a 1/27/08 date for sagemc.jar. the full version of 6.3.7 has the 1/26/08 date.

I don't think so.

After I got the error.. I did a fresh install of sagemc.6.3.7_full.

This got rid of the error.. but the caption plugin wasn't imported.

Then tried to install the captions again.. and got the error again.

Odd.

The version of df_sageutils.jar included in the import is older than the SageMC 6.3.7 version. Check that you still have the version that was included in the SageMC package.

As a general rule, don't overwrite a jar file with an older one

6.3.7

So I installed 6.3.7 of sageMC and cc stopped working. Checking everything I disabled color keying and now closed captions are on all the time. I have no options in settings/sagemc/extras at all and the pop up menu while watching tv does not have any cc options in it. Any idea??

You probably need to re-import the CC back into the SageMC.
